In the movie, we never see the horses actually talking or saying any kind of words, besides Spirit's narration of the story, it was just his thoughts and point of view, but he never pronounced words as a character.

I never read the books about this movie, but if someone has ever read it, do the horses actually talk with eachother in the books? They have any lines besides neigh?  Like how the animals in "The Lion King" or "The Jungle Book" and "Bambi" talked with eachother.

I've only read part Bonita book and horses don't talk there. It's very movie-like with a short 1'st person narration from Bonita at the begining of evey chapter and normal 3-rd person rarration though the rest of the book.

As far as I know horses only talked in Spirit videogame.
