Does anyone know the time line that Spirit goes thru in the movie? It's obvious that time passes because his mane grows and stuff, but does anyone know how long the train trip was or how long spirit thought Rain was dead...? Stuff like that

I heard that the movie takes place within a year. Spirit leaves his herd at summer. He is taken by Lakotas at the end of summer or early autumn (golden leaves, apples). He and Rain part ways at the begining of winter (snow starts falling). Though winter he travels by train (heavy snow) and looks like he pulls the train at early spring (cold, mud) and when he comes back to his home it's summer again.
