The Silver Brumby Characters
I'm a bit of a fan of the Silver brumby books, so I wanted to make some pictures of the characters in Spirit style. Of course, the author used very poetic language to describe the horse's coat colours, and very few face or leg markings are described, so some of this is artistic liscence; i.e. I've used my imagination. I've also taken some of the designs used in the animated series for these horses, particularly face and leg markings.
Thowra - Name meaning: Wind - (Yarraman x Bel Bel) The main character and the eponymous 'Silver Brumby'
Storm - (Yarraman x Mirri) Thowra's half brother, and his best friend throughout his life.
Yarraman - Name meaning: horse - (?x ?) Thowra, Storm, Star, Arrow and many other foal's sire. The former King of the Cascade Brumbies.
The Brolga - Name Meaning: a bird from the crane family - (? x ?). The grey sire of Boon Boon, and the stallion who defeated Yarraman .
Arrow - (Yarraman x Brownie). Brownie's mean spirited son, who bullied Thowra and Storm throughout his life.
Bel Bel - (? x ?) Thowra's wise mother
Mirri - Possible name meaning: dog? - (? x?) Bel bel's best friend, and Storm's mother.
Golden (? x?) Thowra's beloved mare, whom he stole from the humans.
Boon Boon (The Brolga x ?) The wisest mare in Thowra's herd, and his other favourite.
Brownie (? x?) (May also be called 'Darkie'). Arrow's mean spirited mother.
I hope to make more pictures of other characters in the books. I'd also love to know the meanings to all the aboriginal names of the characters. Obviously, the ones I've listed I already know, but the ones I haven't listed I can't find meanings for. If you know what they are, I'd love to hear them ^^

Glad you like them, Marty ^^ I used to watch the cartoon series as a
child, so I've always been very fond of The Silver Brumby ^^ Mind you,
the name confused me when I was a child; after all, he's gold, not
silver, surely XD I don't think it would be necessarily wrong to be inspired by a character in the books, and even to use the same name as a character (there are, after all, many 'Storm's, 'Arrow's and 'Brownie's out there). It would just be wrong to deliberately make the same character as in the books. And it would probably be pushing the boundary to make a similar character to one in the books, e.g no isabella palomino stallions callled Thowra ^^ |

and I wasn't thinking of making these horses, I was thinking of making
thowras daughter and others out of the books but I am sorry it came
out wrong I would never steal qmytjing it's just wrong so I understand

SpiritRulz101, Don't even bother making them, as that is called
stealing characters and I will report them like I have to people in
the past. (The Brolga, Yarraman and Arrow have been taken down
before.) But There is a cartoon series as well as the books and movie, But it's good to see you're creating you're own kind of looks for them based on the books there blackhorsebeth. c: I've been a fan of The Silver Brumby ever since I was a kid. ^^ (I'm an Aussie as well. x3) |
