I just realized that I still didn't write a news about this, even though that's probably one of the things that I'm the most looking forward this year.

After 15 years since the end of the show, and nothing new since then (save for the DVD release), Darkwing Duck comes back TODAY!!!

Not as a TV series, mind, you, but as a comic book. This is published by Boom Studios!, and these are all-new stories involving that crazy superhero duck of Disney. Darkwing Duck will be an ongoing monthly release, and the quality seems high level. Judge by yourself :

And as a good news never comes alone, Ducktales is also making a comeback! Starting from Uncle Scrooge n°392, some never-released in the USA Ducktales comics will be printed, up until n°400, which is said to hold some surprise.

I had always thought that the Disney Afternoon TV series were the best things that Disney did outside of the animated films, and I feel they deserved a much better treatment than being forgotten for so long. I really hope these comics will be successful enough to make Disney reconsider them.
(because, well, Disney only gave the rights to use the properties in that case, while the Boom Studios company got the idea and are taking the "risks")

Some of you may not know about these series. If that's your case, you should really check these out, as this is the occasion to discover some of the finest cartoons series.

Now here's to hoping that Tale Spin gets the same treatment...*crosses fingers*
