A tribute to 2D Animation | Tweet |
This video will speak for itself!
I think it's quite beautiful and I like they were able to include so many animated features in it, with a lot of non-Disney which are actually Sources sites here! (Balto, Cat's don't dance, Anastasia, Spirit...)
This video was noticed and reported by "The animation guild blog", and here's an article to it : http://www.rotoscopers.com/2015/02/11/check-out-this-loving-tribute-to-2d-animation/

This was a really good video. The only probelm is that it didn't have
any scenes from All Dogs. : P |

I especially liked the way similar scenes from different movies were
placed together. It gave it a feeling of continuity that I don't
often see in animashes unless there are lyrics to tie it together. |

Yes, exactly that...someday. At least some form of 2D animation subsists in other medium, such as video games (indies mostly), TV shows (even though a lot have "Flash" style animation, which is lazy) and comic books. |

Seeing this video really makes me miss 2D animation, because there is
so much potential in that medium that animation studios doing CGI
don't realise. 2D animation can give out an epic scope and
beautiful-looking characters that end up looking cheap in CGI. And
unlike computer animation where it seems to look dated later on, the
2D medium that started it all will never age with its looks and
movements. All I can hope for is someday it'll make a comeback... someday... |

Beautiful video, it gave me all the feels! I love 2D traditional
animation so much. As a traditional artist myself I feel it makes
every drawing more personal. I really wish we could see more big
studios coming out with these types of movies again, despite expenses.
