New european TaleSpin DVD releases!

Written by steet :

Any German or British folks here?

Well you'll be glad to know that TaleSpin got / will get a DVD release!

A volume 1 DVD set was officially released in Germany last month, and is available right now!

As for the UK, a similar (but different cover) release is planned for February 11th, 2013, and the price is quite nice!

So, be sure to grab them when you can!

No word on a DVD release in France, for now. It's really weird that, unlike films, each country gets to release the series at varied times, with varied content and covers...Hopefully all countries will get an (almost) full set within a few years!

The 1st collection has 17 episodes, but doesn't include "From Here To Machinery" and "Vowel Play". The 2nd Collection will have 16 episodes, but no idea what the listing is like. i think i saw "Last Horizons" being listed on the set in Germany (the one mentioning Pandas?).

Anyway, The UK will get the 2nd set in May. I've seen a cover for it, but the image isn't large enough to show you guys. Germany will be ahead of us, cause a 3rd set is coming. 17 more episodes will follow after the 2nd one. here's the evidence. http://www10.pic-upload.de/21.02.13/1t8giudrybq8.jpg

I read on a forum that there'll be four sets altogether. If so, the final set will complete the series with the 11 unreleased episodes as well. But, this may not be true. I can't confirm more on this now.

It's a bit ridiculous that Disney isn't release the final 11 episodes. I did manage find a site that sells complete series of TV series of various shows including TaleSpin, but I get the feeling it's not really licensed by Disney. While it's supposed to be region free and remastered, it's only in English and the pictures on the site show the Toon Disney watermark.

I also noticed that Germany has also released the 2nd and 3rd Box Sets for CDRR and DuckTales, which are the US volumes. The UK just got them released in November. But since the 1st was only 20 episodes, there are seven missing inbetween.

I'm hoping that the UK will release more of Talespin though. 17 episodes clearly shows its not matching with the US version.

No release on Bluray planned, and I doubt they ever will. I think digital / streaming will be the way to go in the future.
Yep, all releases around the world have at most 54 episodes, and the same 11 missing from the USA release are ALSO missing in all the other releases. Seems like Disney didn't "remaster" them or something...
Well, at least, TaleSpin is the Disney series that was the closest to completion!

Yeah, I really hope Disney releases the last 11 episodes of Talespin on DVD soon! Hello, it's been 6 years now! Don't leave us hanging, Mouse! According to wikipedia only 17 episodes in total were released internationally, which is even more of a gyp then we in America got D: In conclusion, it's a total shame that Disney is so content to let such a beautiful show waste away and be forgotten, and you can't even watch it on Toon Disney anymore! (That channel dissolved in early 2009 :()
