Good news, folks!  I have reached out to Zootopia director Byron Howard, on Twitter, with a request to have the honor of interviewing he, Richard Moore, Jared Bush and anyone else we can.  And his response was amenable, though he specified that the request has to go through the Walt Disney Company's Publicity Department.  (UPDATE BELOW...please scroll down for more info!)

I got a contact name and e-mail from Byron, and have been negotiating some initial protocols, and what they will or WON'T allow us to do (which entails a lot of hoop-jumping-through, if you get the picture).  The individual I talked to is the head of the department, and she informed me that, if they are to consider whether or not they will allow us to conduct an e-mail interview, they have to see the questions first and approve (or not approve) any of them, and even whether or not the interview will go forward.  She added that this is the same procedure they use for all outlets (professional or otherwise) who make such requests.

SO, with that in mind, I would like to pose the following: just as Karlamon did so well with Simon Wells (who directed the 1995 Balto movie), we want to give you guys a chance to ask any questions of the directors--including Byron Howard, Richard Moore and Jared Bush.  Any questions that you hoped to be answered which perhaps may not have been. 

I WILL ask that you observe the following STRICT guidelines:


- there will be NO disrespectful or ridiculous questions permitted;

- one question per person please (unless we don't get a lot of questions...then I'll open it up more);

- PLEASE try not to ask a question which has been asked of these guys (and answered) about a hundred times already (you've all seen the online, DVD/Blu-Ray and blog interviews...you should know by now how to locate them and what to try and avoid repeating for the hundredth time);

- ZOOTOPIA questions please...not Moana, Frozen 2 or anything else.  Thanks.

I would like to point out that this is not yet a definite thing.  They may yet refuse.  And the questions may not get to go to each director.  Maybe only one will participate.  Or more than one.  Or all three.  Still, we have to play by their rules, and the biggest one is that they want to screen all questions ahead of time, and decide whether or not to allow us to even do it AFTER seeing the questions, and hearing exactly how we're going to do this interview process.  But I wanted to try HARD to get you guys a chance to do what we were able to do with Simon Wells.  Especially since this is a hot movie right now.  I also wanted to strike while the proverbial iron is still red hot!

Please get your questions to me, by private message.  Then, if we are approved for this, I will communicate with each of you so you can then post your questions in a feature on Zootopia Source, just how Karlamon set it up on Balto Source with the Simon Wells interview.  And I'll follow his format the same way.  Try not to delay, gang!  They asked me to try to get the question list back to them as soon as practicable!

****UPDATE: I have been given the thumbs up, by Disney's Publicity Department head, to continue this process!  So everyone is now welcome to submit your questions for sure!  And, if you WANT, you can post them in the comments below if you prefer, if your concern is to keep from stepping on anybody else's toes. 

Disney Publicity will be giving these questions to Byron Howard--either for me to forward the questions to him directly, or through them...I have direct contact with him on Twitter but, given how strict Disney is on this, it may be that, for this exercise, these questions will be going through them and then back to me through them.  I will, if needs be, communicate directly with him on Twitter, via message, if there is any concern.  Jared Bush and Richard Moore, apparently (and unfortunately), will not be involved in this exercise.
