Zootopia/Zootropolis fan input sought!

Written by BaltoSeppala :

Hey everyone!  Over here on Zootopia Source, we're seeking your input, by way of suggestions, ideas and so forth, to help us to continue to provide a great place for you to express your fandom of Zootopia (a.k.a. "Zootropolis")!

Source

So what I would like to do is to actually ask you to comment, below (or send me a private message) with any creative thoughts you may have about how to keep Zootopia Source going as a place you'd want to return to, however often you sign into Animation Source, and which you might think would draw people in (not only existing members, but even possibly new members as well).  Mighty, Matsu and I definitely would like to have your suggestions, your ideas, and any inspiration you may be able to offer!

We don't want to see Zootopia Source become the barren wasteland of activity which so many other sources seem to have become.  Zootopia is still a very hot ticket right now, and the fan base (all over the internet) is huge--and active.  While we've had some great initial contributions since our opening one week ago (fan art, fan images, a fan video, a few original characters, as well as some discussion on the forum and participation in our polls), we just don't want to see it dry up.  And we're pretty sure you don't either!

If you'd prefer to submit your responses by private message to me, that's okay too.  But we'd love to have some publicly-posted comments here, so other people can be encouraged and inspired!  While Mighty, Matsu and I built it, it belongs to everyone--to all of us.  This is YOUR chance to help make Zootopia Source the best and most active source in the community!  Thank you!

Hmm, honestly most of them aren't really artists to begin with, but a few might just like the movie for what it is so I doubt it will affect ZS in that way. I have no qualms with how people wish to interpret and express their creativity and imagination with the characters so long as it's in good taste. My main issue is their ability to keep things PG Lol. We're more on the upper end of the ratings scale in that regard. But I'll ask a few people I know would be okay here. XD

Mighty: Back when I still ran the Alpha and Omega fansite, I used tags like: website, fan website, fansite etc. Just in general and it was number one in the search results whenever someone searched for Alpha and Omega fan site/website, which is probably what most people looking for that sort of thing might search for.

I just realized that, when I created the most recent poll for the members to enjoy, I forgot to add a field for "news anchor/reporter". lol Darn it. I guess folks could still use "pop star" to cover it. More or less...

Well thanks for the suggestions, Ancient! I'm with Mighty (and even your own hesitations) regarding the anime community. My deepest concerns there not only revolve around potential troublemakers starting a whole new devastating round of trolling, drama and flame baiting on here (and we just got over a terrible run of that a couple of years ago, thank goodness), but also that I'm fearful of seeing tons and tons of anime-style art interpretations of the official characters. There's enough of that...silliness...floating around on dA and elsewhere. I realize some people like to interpret their favorite characters in anime style (even as some sort of very strange human/animal mash-ups). And that's fine. I just don't want this site flooded with that stuff--and if it does that it would, as far as I am concerned, be terrible.

I'm not sure that advertising to a group of rowdy people is the best idea, but please do spread the word!

I did modify the site tags recently, so that should help. It's just the matter of getting the site ranked so it will show in the first two pages of a search engine. (it comes up on the first page when you search for Zootopia Source, though no one is going to make a search for that)

I write fanfiction, I could do some advertising in the author's notes of my story on that website. It's small, but the community is still hot at the presses with new stories.

I am also the admin of the second largest anime channel on Disqus, I could probably throw in a little advert there so long as I make it anime related somehow. (However they are a somewhat rowdy bunch, and I don't wish to bring any cancer with me).

Perhaps I'll take to Twitter and start advertising it there. Couldn't hurt right? Getting the site out there will help greatly. I don't know if it's one of the tags or not but like I mentioned before, having one of the tags as "fan website" helps since not many people will search specifically for Zootopia Source.

I thought of an idea that will make use of the gamebook section. While it doesn't need to be a contest or project (though it could be), encourage people to create a maze. For example, a user could create a maze based upon Bunnyburrow and have to not only find the exit, but avoid Gideon Grey. Or one could make a gamebook using Mr. Big, and try to avoid being iced. :icon300:
