just because Saba has her mum's couler and Aleu has her dad's doesn't mean that Aleu can't get Jenna's parents eye couler and Saba can't get Balto's parents eye couler it's not strictly a rule what side you look like to have their eye coulers is it (sorry for late comment but I have to say this)

Well, I think it is very likely that no matter what eye color the parents have, huskies will always have either blue, brown, or both a blue and brown eye, that's just me saying, so don't take my thought as a fact.

got her eyes from a dog related to Balto or Jenna (probably even both)

Things like this can be passed from generation to generation. Like
take my sister for instance. Nobody in my living family (that I know
of) has blue eyes. When my sister was born, she had blue eyes (I'm
pretty sure that almost everyone does when they're born). Now she is 4
and she still has blue eyes. Both my parents and I have hazel eyes,
and my brother has brown. So it all depends. Anyway, good article!

her eyes must be a recessive trait.

Things like this have been brought up often. If you watch closely,
Aleu has blue and white eyes as a pup and then suddenly when she gets
older has blue and goldish yellow eyes. Balto had the gold and yellow
eyes in the first movie, then didn't in Wolf Quest. Back to your point
though, many things including eye colors are passed down threw family
lines, but are known to skip generations. Since we don't know any of
the grandparents of the grandchildren's other then Balto's mother it
is likely that one of the others had blue eyes. The animators didn't
sped much time, effort, or money on the movie though so it could
possibly be a result from that as well.
