Aniu is the White Wolf in Balto I

The Wolf Spirit in Balto I is the same wolf spirit in its sequel WQ

:

Do you ever just wonder upon the two white wolf's in Balto and its successor sequel, WQ? Yeah it gets confusing.\"frown\" Well, don't you fret, because I got some clues that the wolf spirit in the first film could possibly be Aniu, the white wolf from Balto II. (This is my first article, please don't kill me.\"laugh\".)

To Summarize: In the first Balto movie, our main protagonist saves a town of kids by leading the town's main dog sled team including the fastest runners. He is bullied by most of the dogs since he's half-wolf/half-dog as a Russian snow goose adopts him as his own while he falls for a pure-bred husky and is hated by the most popular dog in town. A few minutes before the ending, we see a vision of a white wolf, encouraging the protagonist to move forward on his journey and later on finishes the mission.\"\"

Couple years later, a direct-to-dvd sequel is released, called Wolf Quest. It is about one of Balto's pups, Aleu who looks more wolf than her family and one night gets angry at her father for telling her the truth and runs off to find who she really is. Surprisingly, in this movie, we get to see more of the white wolf spirit who is called Aniu and plays an important role of Balto finding Aleu and helping her on the journey.

\"\"

And, at the end of the movie, we find out who the white wolf is: Aniu, Balto's mother.

\"\"

Regarding both movies, they were created by different directors. Simon Wells, the director of Balto I states that Balto's father was the white wolf, as the mother being the husky/dog. Phil Weinstein's directly shows the audience that the father was indeed a husky and mother was the white wolf in the first film. Many have opinions and theories that can support these claims. My evidence will prove that the spirit in Balto 1 is Aniu from WQ.

Evidence 1:  After Balto tries to make a conversation with Jenna, him and Boris is confronted in a snowy alley with Steele, Nikki, Kaltag, and Star. They tease the two and in one minute later Boris is hit and falls into a dish. When Balto tries to defend the goose, Steele slaps him with his tail stating this:

"Oh, Balto, I gotta quick message for your mother."

\"\"

Then, the group of dogs mimick howling sounds.

Evidence 2: After learning it might be too late for the medicine to arrive, and the sled team lost, Balto, Boris, Luk, and Muk decide to go find the medicine and the dogs and bring them home. While Balto marks the trail by leaving marks on the bark of the tree, Boris compliments him and we can hear him mutter

"And just like your mother."

So, there's that. Please share your opinions down in the comments below on what you think. :)

I mean no offense to you, but I don't know why so many many people are so confused about this subject. There's no way that The White Wolf from the first was was intended to be Aniu. The first film, as you stated, was directed by Simon Wells, the second film by Phil Weinstein. In a recent interview with Simon, he made it clear that The White Wolf was intended to be a mystical character. The wolf has no gender, and it may or may not have been real. If he intended for the wolf to be his mother or father, he would have said so.

Also, I think you're confused on the matter of The White Wolf being Balto's father. Simon said that he IMAGINED it being that way, but never said it was a fact. That was just his opinion.

As for your first piece of evidence, I think that quote was intended to be a way to anger and bully Balto. It wasn't an actual message to his mother. Your second piece of evidence, Boris says "and you won" there. The subtitles on iTunes confirms that.
