I know there is some confusion regarding Dixie's breed.

I was looking up Spitz dogs, and found a breed called a German Spitz. It doesn't look exactly like Dixie, but similar.

 The German Spitz is known to have various different coloured coats. So it's fur probably can be grey-ish like Dixie's.

I also found the Keeshond, or Wolfspitz. It's a different kind of German Spitz, and a bit larger.

The muzzle of the Keeshond is black, but the breed can sometimes have ' milky white' mouths. 

Dixie may not be either breed. She might be a mongrel. A theory taken up by some fans is that Dixie is a long haired chihuahua. But she's got a lot of hair for a chihuahua, unless her looks were exaggerated.
