Jenna different?-and the analysis of the movies © Balto

I write this article to actually think about the change of the charcater Jenna throughout the movies.Well,she changes,BIG TIME. I mean,it's different artists,but it could be better. Also,I have an analysis of the movies. So,let's start with Jenna.

So,you see the difference now. Look at all three! Totally different! I mean,the original was great,Balto 2 was OK,but Balto 3,not really. You can see many differences between them. Also,you see how Jenna's eyes and face change too. The 3rd movie's 'Jenna' doesn't look like Jenna at all.(Personally speaking.) They all are good drawings,but they could be more'matching'. Well,whatever you think.....

The Analysis

Balto 1:Well,I think this movie of the trilogy so far is the best!Lots of emotion,feeling,adventure, all the important parts for a good movie. The outcast(Balto) is the hero,he gets the girl he really likes,great movie endng! I really think this movie is outstanding,the best dog movie to com out in 1995. (my score is 3 out of 3).

Balto 2: Not such a 'outstanding' sequel. This happens.... Anyway,It doesn't really ave all the key parts. I mean,it has the feeling and emotion(slightly),but really,not the best adventure. So,I give the movie a 2 out of 3 score.

Balto 3: Better than the sequel,but Jenna doesn't really look like Jenna,there isn't enough adventure,ahh,maybe not such a good movie. It's pretty good,but there are tons of characters to remember,hard work.(Even I don't remember some). So,I give the movie a 2 1/4 out of 3 score.

i noticed she changed too. I like her mostly in the first one. She is pretty and has a good voice. In Balto 2 and 3 they changed her and i was disapointed and her voice didn't really sound like Jenna

1.They made her fur too dark
2.They made her legs a bit thicker than original
3.2Her voice changed(loved the old one)
4.She has Kodi's build in some scenes(rewatch the movie if you know what I mean).
The animators have gotten a bit lazy but they did put some effert in Balto & WOC^

Say, did you know that Jenna's character design in the first Balto film was based on Audrey Hepburn? My gosh, the people who used to work at Amblimation sure knew how to make such a fine canine damsel. When I was younger, like 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12, it didn't really matter to me how Jenna looked. But now that I am older, I see that Jenna's looks have been rather tampered with throughout the sequels and she was made to look a lot less like Audrey Hepburn, mostly due that they were low budget and rushed. Now character wise, Jenna was mostly thrown off to the side to make way for other protagonists in the sequels, but in the first film, Jenna truly made the film, she was not only beautiful, but she was very supportive, and she was assertive against Balto's worst enemy Steele, who always acted like a glory hound. In the sequels, Jenna was like a dishrag being thrown around and wasn't seen very often, and she wasn't as assertive as what she use to be. You make a very good point, and I agree with you, Jenna's character has changed, DRAMATICALLY. In short, my loyalty goes to the first film.

Well to me,Balto 1 and Balto 2 was much better at pretty much everything.Well,Balto 2 would have been better if Aleu got a home,but I still think these two were the best.

Jenna looks way better in Balto 1. But in Balto 2, man.....

The animations sucked. Thanks goodness they fixed it up a notch in Balto 3.

this article speaks the truth! in the other movies Jenna loses her grace and beauty and the "look" that she always had. the third one was a step up from the second, which was just pathetic! The plot is very weak, like you said. Great article!

I like classic, old, well-made movies, which is why I like B1. I also noticd that Jenna's bandana changes colors over time, and just losses her look. She goes from beautiful, to odd-looking, to just plain like the other female huskeys around! In the next movie, I hope she looks better!

the first one was made in 1995,I don't know when the second one was made and the third one was made in 2004,they would of changed animators

In the 2nd movie, Jenna seems to develop a "hump" in her back! It looks so wierd(along with her eyes). You'd think the animators could take a hint from the first movie's design, along with their anatomy too.

Balto 1 was the best. But the other two i saw when i was little...and recently being forced to watch the other two again, i just fell asleep (Stupid 9 year old hogging the VCR...i didn't even know who she was?! I guess to many people come and go in my house...)

You're right I can see the differece in all three movies. They either try to make her either darker red than normal or try to make her a lighter version of red.
