Interesting moments.
This thought came to me recently. And I'm interested.
The action takes place at a time when the wolf Nava escapes, then the spirit of a crow appears.

Remember that Nava ran to the left of the rock, and Balto went from the rock to side of the ocean.
Note, the spirit of the crow flies to Balto from exactly the same trail, where Nava had fled (Nava ran to the left of the rock, from there the spirit of the crow flew). In addition, Nava quickly disappeared (The wolf weak, old and wounded, it could not run so fast).

Don't you think it strange?
After that, I began to think that the old wolf is a spirit too. That is, we have a full set of ghosts from totem. Nava plays the role of the teacher (as from totem). For this reason, I began to think that it really is a ghost, take the shape of different animals of the totem, including a distorted shape of the desired mother.
However, this theory (that the old the leader is a ghost too) belies the fact that a little earlier, we see a crow and old wolf together in the same scene.

But still strange.
What do you think about this?
