Name - Chase

Breed - Purebred Siberian Husky
Gender - Male

Eye Color - Dark brown.
Mate - Fawn
Crush - Not open.
Crusher - Chase has several fans that definitely have a thing or him, yep.

Enemies - A few sled teams and dogs definitely aren't fond of him.
Parents - Not revelant.
Siblings - Not revelant.
Pups - Vincent.
Body.
Height - Above average.
Weight - Chase is slim. He is very wiry and strong despite this.
Drawn - (See body picture)
Rendered - A heavily modified Balto. Chase has a more triangular (and thinner) face. His eyes are narrower and are at an angle. Chase's paws are also much smaller, and his tail is obviously curled. Chase is also taller over all, and longer.
Personality - Chase is a complicated character. He can be very kind and corteous at times, but he also has quite the temper. Very cynical and sarcastic he often is quick to judgement. Chase is also very stubborn and determined, although these can often be for more selfish reasons than anything. Chase is also rarely loyal to anything simply for the fact that he doesn't like being tied down or held back from doing anything. Despite all of his faults though, he is insanely brilliant and always keeps his wits about him. Is also very charismatic and has the ability to talk to just about anyone.
Likes - His sled team, racing, winning races, his fans. He can very much be the stereotypical lead dog, but despite his personality Chase never gained the arrogance that typically comes with it. When he isn't racing he spends time with his mate, Fawn, and he does love her he just tends to complicate things. He does like travelling though.
Neutral Towards - Vincent.
Dislikes - Losing some races, being out for too long, feeling controlled, fighting.
Biography.
Chase was born to two champion sleddogs, and from the start it was apparent that he had inherited their skills. It was also apparent that the young dog was rather wild and unruly, and tended to not follow directions easily. That bein said, it took quite some time for Chase to be adopted, and he eventually was by a young musher who had little experience but was willing to take on the challenge of Chase. It took months to fully train Chase, not that the dog himself minded. Chase had basically been sabotaing his own training every chance he got simply because he didn't like being ordered around. Once his musher understood this, he was able to adapt his training style to Chase's stubbornness. After Chase was properly trained, his musher built the rest of the sled team around Chase's strengths and weaknesses. This was fairly easy to do; he just needed to find a group of dogs that weren't ridiculously stubborn like his wayward lead dog.
Once the team was assembled and had trained together for quite some time, they began entering races. At first they were the underdogs, but due to Chase's stubborn determination they skyrocketed to the best team around. They became well known all across Alaska, but moreso in the sledding towns. Chase and his team were being challenged by teams left and right, many coming from his hometown of Fairbanks, or the farther away Nome. Either way, he was travelling a lot which he didn't mind at all. In fact, Chase loved to travel and meet new faces and see new places. That was his favorite bit of the whole thing, although he did enjoy the does of satistfaction he and his team got when they won.
On a break from racing, the team would return to Fairbanks. Chase hated these times as he would often get stir-crazy and would typically spend his days walking, or pacing, around town looking for something to do. By this point, he couldn't seem to get away from the fame that he'd earned and often had a few females trailing after him as he desolately walked about town. He'd meekly answer their questions, but as a whole cast them away as annoyances. This was until he met Fawn, who sometimes would be in the group, however she was far too shy to actually say anything. Once she did though, Chase found that she wasn't an airheaded fan who lived to see him mope about town. Fawn was a deep thinker, like himself, and he found himself hopelessly in love with her. The two quickly became a pair, and soon enough Fawn was expecting a litter of puppies. Unfortunately, Chase had to return to racing and missed the first few months of his children's lives. Or at least, he had expected there to be children. When he returned, he was greeted by one grumpy puppy. Fawn had named him Vincent. Chase didn't know how to react, as he had no idea how to be a father, and he was honestly put off by Vincent's personality. For awhile, he tried to be the best father he could be but this was a struggle as it was still sledding season and his team was now in contention for a newly developed championship race. He ended up having to essentially abandon his family during this time, leaving Chase rather confused. For the first time, he was debating quitting racing for the sake of his family. Chase himself had never really known his parents, and while he didn't think that impacted him at all he felt differently about his own.
However, this became an impossible endeavor as soon as his team won the championship race because Chase was now the holder of the golden collar. At this point he was a mixed bag of emotions. Chase had earned the highest honor ever bestowed on a sled dog. He had also let his mate and son down by not being there for them at all. In the end, Chase chose to distance himself from his family so they wouldn't miss him while he was away for most of the year. He hoped that by doing this, they would eventually move on and not have to worry or care about him. Vincent didn't understand this and grew to loathe his father, as Chase hadn't explained his reasons to his son. Fawn empathized with her mate, and never stopped missing him which actually irritated the sled dog. He'd had hoped that Fawn would find someone better for her, someone who could take care of her and Vincent. He hadn't expressed this to Fawn either, which is possibly why she never gave up on him. In the meantime, Chase defended his golden collar every chance he got.
This would end horribly on a routine run when Chase's team crossed paths with a large bear a short way away from Fairbanks. The bear in question as obviously not too pleased to see the sled team, and lunged for the lead dog first. Amazingly, only Chase's harness was damaged and he was able to wriggle free. For the second time in his life, he was given the choice to either stay with what needed him, or to go on a do what he thought he needed to do. And as in the last case, Chase took off running but this time he looked back. His team needed him, and if this would be the last time they did, Chase figured so be it. Chase quickly turned around to find the bear stalking it's way closer to his musher. Summoning all of his strength, he threw himself onto the bear, sending himself and the bear tumbling yards away from the team. Chase put up quite a fight and gave his team just enough time to get back to the town. Ultimately, the bear was too strong for the wiry dog and Chase ended up dying there. The golden collar remained in existance, and his musher felt driven to win it back every chance he got to have a reminder of his wily, unruly, stubborn lead dog that ended up saving not only his life but that of the majority of the sled team.
Other -
- Chase's musher eventually became Steele's musher.
- Chase's specialty was in speed. Instead of resorting to Steele's cheating ways, Chase could simply analyze the situation and close the gap by his own willpower.
- The races that Chase's team lost were simply the ones he didn't want to do.
- Chase was the first holder of the golden collar, and held it for nearly three years. In the years since his death it has changed owners numerous times. Steele held it for the second longest, a little over a year and a half.
- Fawn was never notified of Chase's death. She had heard of the accident and confronted the team about it but no one had the heart to tell her that Chase was one of the ones who had passed.
- Vincent's thought his father had abandoned him because he didn't like him and was too engrossed in racing. This directly impacts Vincent's own (short) career in racing, and his thoughts on Steele. (Vincent was aware that the golden collar was his father's. However, Vincent's thoughts on Chase were true with Steele.)
Relation to Balto - Grandfather of Jenna, former lead dog of Steele's Musher, and former holder of the golden collar.

AAH thank you so much baeb omfg! ;w; I'm so glad you like him so much though sdfghjkl. I really like him too, like his bio just came so easily and it just really fit with his personality? I don't even know. Plus it really lends to all of Vincent's problems with everyone. (Even if they weren't supposed to turn into what they did.) I was also thinking that Chase is the root of Steele's problems, because they had the same musher. (And as stated, the musher is very driven to maintain the golden collar, so he probably talks about Chase's accomplishments all the time which is why Steele is so engrossed with winning?) I think if the Cassius and Chase ever met it would end with Chase getting his butt beaten or something, I mean jeez. He really is a turd though. |
