Relation To Balto universe: Is one of the sons of Balto and Jenna.

Story:  Dingo is one of Balto and Jenna’s sons from their first litter (in 1926).  He looks a lot like his brother Kodi and sister Saba, but he is a darker shade of red than either.  This is MY version of the official character of Dingo (he is the pup who, in Balto 2: Wolf Quest, says that he "can't wait to get a human, so I can chew on their socks! ").

Dingo was adopted by the son of Nome’s chief of police, and became his best buddy.  As he grew older, he eventually took on the responsibility of assisting the chief of police in keeping the peace in Nome, serving as a police dog…a job he takes very seriously.

Dingo is a generally quiet, stalwart dog, who is always observing others to size them up…be they dogs, humans or otherwise.  He is reserved initially, but will be friendly with those whom he accepts.  He is not a jokester, but has a rather dry sense of humor, and a serious, steadfast demeanor. 

He eventually met and fell in love with Hanna, a black and white Siberian Husky who lives in the kennel of Steele’s owner.  Over time, this has caused some minor difficulty for Dingo, whose identity is known to Steele, who pushes his bitterness over the serum run onto Dingo (and, thus, onto Hanna as well).  Of course, while it has occasionally been the cause of some frustrating and troublesome incidents, they are minor.  Steele’s loss of credibility and reputation amongst most of the dogs of Nome, as a result of his lies and treachery during the last days of the serum run, have reduced any possibility of major issues.  But it is still frustrating to Dingo.

Dingo and Hanna have since had a litter of puppies.  Dingo takes his new second job as father as serious as his other job, and has been very happy to have his daughter Belle as part of his owner’s family. 

The facial image above is a render, based upon the image of Kodi, which was graciously created for this fan character by MightyBalto1925.  Dingo is a darker shade of red than Kodi is (and that would be evident in a comparison of the original image and this render.)  The beautiful full-body image (at the lower right of the image, second from right) was created by UK - Ban Cat for my fan fiction "The Passing of Togo", in which Dingo is a major character.
