I agree with Nattikat, it's noticeable actually, without bringing facts into this. Steele is a lot larger than Balto, and a lot stronger. He'd definitely beat Balto one-on-one. Yes, wolves can be very fierce, but there are dogs who are much stronger than the wolf.

Just by looking at Balto, you can tell that he is much weaker than Steele. Steele is extremely powerful, and built for pulling sleds. Steele has lots of stamina, to keep him going. Balto is fast because of his smaller size. I believe Balto would like to beat Steele in a fight, but I think just by looking at the two, Steele would knock him into next week.

Sorry, guys, but in an honest, one-on-one battle, Steele would probably kick Balto's behind. He is not only larger in height, but is also noticeably more muscular and probably overall healthier than Balto; I'm fact, his living with humans is probably more of a help than a hinderance. While Balto was on his own not knowing when his next meal would be, Steele was being fed sufficiently and trained well. And pulling a sled across miles is no job for wimps; it takes serious strength and stamina.

Balto being part wolf in no way makes him stronger than Steele. Despite his breeding, he is still weaker. Even so, I think a lot of wolf fans have a serious misconception of just how strong wolves actually are. They're not invincible, and just because they're wild animals dose not mean that they are automatically stronger than all dogs. There are dog breeds out there that would probably whoop a wolf's tail one-on-one.

No. Steele stronger. He better knows "martial arts" for dogs. Similarly, due to the size, he would weight, force and adroitness win over a wolf.

I can say something - Balto is BIGGER than Steele. If you'll look closer, everywhere, where Balto meets steele, balto is bowed down. If he is not bigger, he is in same size. If Balto would stand in he's full size, he really are bigger than steele

Really, Steele does have the upper paw () because he is bigger, and Im not saying this because because I like Steele. Steele is bigger in size (have you seen his muscles?!?!) therefore giving him the advantage. But Balto does shine through, though, but Steele probally win.

Maybe Balto could beat Steele. He's got wolf in him. And wolves attack
big preys, even if they are much bigger.

To Drawolf, Balto I know would win, keenly by going off wolf, you have
a larger say 100 lbs dog vs a small 80 lbs wolf, the dog is dead.
Wovles eat dogs in the real world. dog=prey. Since he is half wolf
although the gentle and nice, when agressive, can be much better then
a dog. My agruement is Balto in the film half wolf, having that
advantage is more then enough to beat a dog dispite size. And for
several reviewers for the film Balto was a wine they wanted Balto to
attack Steele and win. So if a high critic says that about the fim for
me from a critic view Balto is stronger. Because he is half wolf is
more then enough to beat up Steele. Because what I know of wolves half
of that is more then enough .

9/10 times, the bigger dog wins in a fight. Which would make it a bit
harder for Balto.

Very good points but don't forget the thing that ultimently proved to
be Steele's undoing in the film, personilty. Balto being determined
allowed him to take a beating from Steele and Steele was overconfident
in himself, he believed Balto was no match for him, that caused him to
make the error during the fight. Also, Steele really doesn't pay
attention to his surroundings, case in point, Steele didn't see the
cliff he ended up falling off of nor did he notice that boiler till
his read end got burnt. Also, though Steele was able to chase Balto
off earlier in the film, it was only because he had Nikki, Caltag, and
Star with him. Good artical though!

You have good points here I really think Balto would win in a one and
one fight, Balto weighs less, wolves are generally light weight but
pack a strong punch! Steele although larger is around humans, and
stray dogs often fight better then human dogs.

Yeah, good points. But since the animator wanted Steele to be the 'big
bully', they thought that Steele could be bigger than Balto because
that would be wierd if Balto was bigger stronger than the 'big
bully'.
