Personality: While certainly not bipolar, she does have different aspects of her personality that are brought out in different situations, tending to make her seem a bit unpredictable. She comes across as rather mysterious and closed in at first glance, perhaps even a bit cold towards strangers. But it doesn't take long for her to warm up to you once you gain her trust, and she has a sense of wit and humor when she happens to open up.

Under stress, she manages to remain somewhat calm, though certain situations, like her friends being in danger, can cause her to be nervous and rash. She tends to hide behind an appearance of toughness, which is actually true in some cases. However, she can be a bit motherly and caring to people in need, though only when she is alone, usually.
She does have a sense of curiousity, and can be a bit rash at times, but normally has some common sense and quite a bit of street smarts as well, a helpful combination. She is a bit fiery in terms of temper, sometimes snapping at little things. But overall, she can be an excellent friend (though she doesn't happen to have many who get through her tough, cold outer layer), or a dangerous enemy who can hold a grudge.

History: Most of her past isn't very well known to most, as Jynx prefers not to talk about it. Suffice it to say, she wasn't very lucky, hence the name she gave herself, Jynx. Her father's name was unknown, but from what Jynx had managed to learn, he was rather hostile and arrogant, not a very nice guy, basically. She never had the misfortune of meeting him though, as he left her mother to fend for herself and three puppies in the cold streets of Nome. Both of Jynx's siblings died quickly, and Jynx's mother was weak too.
Jynx ended up being injured herself, though it wasn't clear how. But her right hind leg was cut up fairly badly.

In a rare moment of good luck, a kind lady found the two struggling dogs and took them in. Jynx's mother soon died, but Jynx survived, and was named Ahnalei. The lady tried to help the injured puppy, and succeeded for the most part, but Jynx still shows a slight limp when running, though it doesn't slow her down at all. "Ahnalei" was cared for, and was actually happy for a while, but then the lady who had taken care of her developed kidney failure. She eventually healed, but only to catch tuberculosis, from which she eventually passed away.

Jynx was cheated out of another loving guardian once again. Just under a year old, she survived for quite a while on her own, though it wasn't easy, leaving her skinny and wary. Eventually, she stumbled into a gang called the Cliffhangers. Glad to be part of a group where she wouldn't have to fend for herself as much, she joined, and soon befriended Maxwell, whose gentle temperment and ability to keep a secret led her to trusting him. Abandoning her old life completely, she dubbed herself "Jynx", almost a reminder of how unlucky she was. Maxwell knows her the best out of the gang, most of which still thinking of her as unpredictable and mysterious.
