Name: Luna
Species: Alaskan wolf
Gender: Female
Parents: Unknown (adopted by Niju)
Siblings: None
Mate: Athos
Pups: Denali, Klondike, Cordova, Juno, Alaska
--------------------------------
Personality: Luna is rather an introvert, and not the easiest person to approach; She has trouble letting people near her and trusting strangers, but once she decides to put her guard down, and lower her shields, you get yourself a very loyal friend who will stick by your side to the end. Still, Luna is a fun loving and energetic young wolf who enjoys a good run through the woods and some goofing off every now and then. She is a very loving and caring mother, she's strict when needed but can also be a "fun and cool" mom.
Likes: Athos, her pups, Niju, running, howling, winter and summer, the scent in the air right after rain.
Dislikes: Most humans, bears, water, thunder storms, spiders.
-----------------------------------
Story: Luna was born as the only pup to two rogue wolves, she had a decent and happy childhood, but one faithful day her whole life changed, when her parents were shot by hunters. The young pup escaped them just barely, but the image of her parents being killed right before her eyes never escaped her mind. Luna wandered alone in a snow storm, crying for help, and just when things looked hopeless, she was found a black and grey, sinister looking wolf - Niju. Although he looked intimidating to the young pup, Niju immidietally took her under his wing, and offered to take care of her until she could fend for herself. He brought her to a warm cave and fetched her some food, and slowly, she began to trust him and in time, learned to love and respect him as a father figure. As Luna grew into an adult, Niju had already grown old, and when he passed away, Luna was heartbroken. After the death of her foster father, Luna was completely lost and had no idea what to do or where to go. She ended up travelling across the wilderness, but one day, she got her leg stuck in a rope trap, and no matter how much she struggled, she couldn't get loose. A wolfdog appeared to the scene, offering to help, but since she could smell he was part dog, she immidietally snarled at him and told him to back off. He wasn't scared by her threats, and explained that he needed to find his way back to Nome. He offered to release Luna if she could help him get back home, and after a lot of consideration, Luna realized she had no choice but to agree to his proposal. The wolfdog, who introduced himself as Athos, got her out of the trap, and so, the two were on their way. Luna still didn't trust him, and the fact that she learned that he was a hunting dog certainly didn't help, since Luna had lost her parents to hunter's bullets. But after they got to know each other better, she learned that Athos's owner had been killed by a bear, leaving him fleeing badly wounded and far from home. As she listened to his story, Luna even sympathized with him - after all, they had both lost a loved one, and knew exactly how it felt like. Athos truly won her trust when they got into a fight with a huge grizzly - the very same that had killed Athos's owner and given him his scars, and were forced to escape by jumping into a river. Luna hit her head on a large rock, lost consciousness and went under water. Athos dived after her, pulled her back to the surface and got them both out of the river. Several hours later, she woke up, and Athos was laying beside her, in order to keep her warm. After he told her what had happened, Luna realized he had saved her life, and saw him in a totally new light. It wasn't long when they realized that they were falling in love, and when they arrived to the outskirts of Nome, Athos invited Luna to come and live with him. But Luna hesitated, because not only had she only had bad experiences of humans, she was a wolf, who belonged in the forest, and not in a town. They had a bittersweet farewell, and went on their separate ways, but Luna just couldn't stop missing Athos, and she wanted nothing more than to be with him. But her luck soon took a turn for the better, as Athos tracked her down and told her he wanted to live with her in the wild. Luna was happy beyond words, they became mates and settled to the woods near Nome so Athos could visit his family. Not long after that, Luna discovered that she was excpecting pups, she happily broke the news to her mate who was seemingly really nervous about his future role, but she assured him that he was going to be the best father ever. Finally, she gave birth to five beautiful and healthy pups, whom their parents loved with all their hearts, and now Luna finally had something that she'd always dreamed of: a family of her own.
Relation to Balto: She was raised by Niju, and her mate is Balto and Jenna's grandson.

Thanks so much, so glad you like her!! Yes, I didn't want it to be a
typical love at first sight-thing haha Sure, I'd love that! I'm thinking about making some pups for them too at some point so maybe we can brainstorm together. ![]() |
