Personality:
Malakai’s most known trait is his bravery, he is able to stand up for anything he believes in and doesn’t let anything get in his way. His strength only builds on his courage and his strongly built body has endured enough for him to know his limits. He is a calm dog, with little to say but has passion in what he does, he is slightly sensitive although he rarely shows his softer side and has challenged Steele many times- but neither have become the champion of that battle as it has always ended in a tiebreaker.
Balto has also been one of his enemies and Kai has always found him as a threat, but although the feeling is mutual the two haven’t actually fought physically yet, as Jenna being a close friend has held Kai back.

History:
Malakai was an only child, he and his parents had a rather close bond from birth but being separated from them from a young age he hasn’t got much memory of them left.
When born, Malakai’s father took a stand and told his pack that he could no longer lead them; he needed to take his mate and newborn and go somewhere far away that was safe and where he only had to fend for them.
Being a strong pack they understood and let him go without any fuss but there were also downsides to having such a close bond with his group and that meant that many enemy packs were sure to come for him knowing he was alone and defenceless.

Instead of attacking his father however, a nearby pack had heard about Malakai’s birth and without any competition they came and took Kai from his parents, leaving the two adult wolves injured and weak. Malakai was too young to understand what was going on but the fear was engulfing him and he sat motionless in the leader’s grip- unsure of what was to come of him.
The enemy pack had a plan, and with kidnapping twelve other pups they made their way across the land in search of a remote area, isolated from any other wolf. They set up a base and for days they defended their territory, hunting off any animal that came near.
Malakai was trained along with the other twelve pups day and night until he was a young adolescent and then he was released into a small area that was surrounded by the pack, they wouldn’t let the pups leave the arena and that was when the pack leader appeared.
He explained to the pups that he wanted a larger pack and that they were to fight to the death, the old pack that winner was taken from would then be forcefully merged with his own pack as they produced a winner they would produce many more breeding with his own pack members. The pack leader had a thirst for glory and was merciless under the cries for humanity of the pups, Malakai however, was silent. He didn’t care for these pups; he didn’t necessarily want to kill them all but he was more worried about only one of the pups, the female pup he had trained side by side with ever since he could remember.
He had developed feelings for Milahni and although he wanted to survive he could never watch her die, so it was that moment he decided that he would do everything he could to make sure she was the survivor, even if it meant sacrificing himself.
The few days after that all went like a blur; he defended Milahni the whole time, spending the cold nights with her and attacking any other wolf in the game that threatened them. It all looked as if it was going to go his way until he went to find food for the two, he returned to Milahni being attacked by the last two remaining wolves, besides himself and Milahni in the tournament, he did what he could- killing one and the other running off but it had consequences and Milahni was injured, her back leg was broken and that meant her chances of survival were running thin.
Long story short, Milahni died in the night and Malakai gave it everything he had to get vengeance for the one he loved, he won the challenge and escaped the enemy pack before they could once again hold him captive. He ran into the forest alone, emotionally and physically broken, and that’s where he met Jenna, she took him back to her village and he lived with her safely until he was an adult, he hated Balto and Steele for some unknown reason and explained to Jenna that he belonged in the forest, away from them and that he was destined to be alone.
He still roams around, he visits Jenna from time to time but he prefers to be alone and away from the other packs. His mission is to be reunited with his parents and one day he hopes to succeed.
