Relation to the Balto film: Her mother is Dipsy and she is a close friend of Mel. Also her mistress in the sister of Steele's owner.

Personality: Sensible (sometimes), frisky, talkative (but not as much as the Terrier), loud, friendly, humourous.

Likes: Wandering about, talking, races, singing (though at the moment she is not very good at it (still practicing)), warm fires, playing with her owners and their children.

Dislikes: Things that go "Bump!" in the night, sitting outside in the snow all night.

History: Miska Mandy was born of Dispy in the town of Nome, she was given as a birthday present to Mrs Kasni, a women who worked for four months in Nome's post office. Miska grew up with the Kasni's four children, Peter, Harry, Sue and Lizzi Kasni (Miska is very protective over them all).

Miska enjoyed watching Nome's races, and cheering the competitors on.

One night after an extraordinary race, Miska was walking home (she was walking on the beach and passing the nearby houses) when she heard small whine coming from behind one of the house's fences. 

It was a very tall fence, so Miska couldn't see over and find out who was making the noise. But luckily, there was a small gap hidden behind a large shrub, which ran along part of the garden fence. Miska peered through the hole and saw a male dog with a tawny brown pelt, chained up and whining pitifully.

Miska found out that this dog was called Avan and, like she, enjoyed a good race.

Once, as Miska sat on the wall surrounding her house garden she thought that competing in a race would be pretty fun, but then looking herself over she found that that could not be possible. For she was so titchy and small.

Once, Mrs Kasni's brother (Steele's owner) came to visit. When he saw Miska Mandy he laughed and said to his sister: " You not going to let this little teeny thing race are you, Annie?"
