The wilderness

History:
Pamela was a she-wolf born into an unknown wolf pack and placed as an omega. She sometimes did not get to eat and, in turn, grew very thin. In an act of desperation, she began to steal from her own pack and hunt without permission. She was found out rather quickly and was exiled from the pack.

For days she wandered the wilderness, alone and hungry. Even little rabbits could not satisfy her hunger, and she was too weak to hunt other, bigger creatures. Fishing was out of the question as well. One day, she came upon what her pack called a "man village". However, after observing dogs managing to find meat from within, she was determined to do the same.

Sneaking in at night, Pamela sniffed her way through the village. With patience and luck on her side, she found where the meat came from. Her pack had described that same place as a "fresh-kill den", but they had never dared to try and steal from it. Pamela, however, was not part of that pack anymore, and proceeded to wiggle her way in and take some chunks of meat out with success. After finding a small, hidden shed to eat her rewards, she drifted off into sleep.

The next day was eventful. Once arising from her slumber, she was almost imediately confronted by one of the dogs from the village. Pamela was taken aback by him, almost surprised that he was calm about her actions. Unbeknownst to her, he had been watching her ever since she arrived in the village. The dog was quick to lecture her on positive reinforcement, and although she was shaken a little by this, it didn't deter her from stealing again.

The next morning, there was no friendly "Mr Nice-Guy", he went all out. Barking, screeching, growling, even catching the attention of passerbies. They finally came to an agreement, with a catch; the dog would bring her food as long as she didn't steal other dogs' food or raid trashcans. Pamela was unsure whether the plan would work, but gave it a try. Every sunrise and sunset, the dog would come and give her food, as they agreed on. 

As time went on, Pamela began to gain her weight back, slowly but surely. She was no longer skin and bones, and was almost convinced she could try and hunt a carribou down. However, she stuck with hunting the small creatures. The dog still brought her food, even though she didn't need it anymore. it was more like an excuse to come and see her. Pamela did indeed stick around, and she even learned the dog's name; Kaltag.

She knew that Kaltag was only making excuses to come and see her, everyone knew that. This went on for over three years. Since wolves and wolfdogs were more welcomed in the town, no one made a fuss about it. Eventually, Kaltag stopped bringing her food and began bringing her gifts, such as a dog bed or dog toys. Pamela was amused by his efforts to impress her, and she graciously accepted his gifts.

It was only a matter of days of bringing her gifts that he confessed his feelings to her. Cheesy, but Pamela went with it. In a twist of fate, Pamela, too, had feelings for the dog. From that day forward, they wasted no time trying to be in each other's vicinity as much as possible. It was toxic almost, and they did realize that. They took it down a notch and visited each other every sunrise and sunset, as they had in the previous years.
