I am personally a firm believer that classic films should be left alone. However, in recent years, both Disney and Universal have pulled their oldest films from the vault in hopes to make profit for the sequels.

When Balto II was released, I saw it. I understand why Aleu's story was told. She was easy to differentiate from her siblings because she was the only one that had more characteristics from Balto, than Jenna. And she chose to join a pack of wolves, which again, made her unique. I get that story.

In Wolf Quest, all of the pups, excluding Aleu, are adopted. She is the only pup left in the box when the sun goes down. And if I remember correctly, there was no unique circumstance in Wolf Quest that would have separated Kodi from the other five pups. Unlike Aleu's destiny with the wolves, we can assume that the other five puppies would have either become a pet (Like Jenna) or a working sled dog. So again, there is nothing truly remarkable about his story. Will the other five puppies have their own shot at the spotlight? Probably not. Even though some of their lives would have been just as remarkable as Kodi's. I understand that Wings of Changes marks the time that people began relying on flying, but it seems to be premise of another story.

I personally do not get why Wings of Change was created. I'm convinced that both Disney and Universal is running out of ideas and therefore, they are forced to go back to the classics. Anywhere they can find some sort of an idea at the end of the classic, that's where the sequel is going to go!  It works in some cases. Loved the first Balto. Tolerated the sequel because it had a twist. Was not a personal fan of the third. One sequel is pretty much my limit. Respect the classics before you ruin them with sequels, movie makers.
