Balto

I watched my Balto DVD the other week as well as my Wings of Change DVD, I began to ponder about something.

In Balto, Jenna is voiced by Bridget Fonda (you may remember her in Jackie Brown, Army of Darkness, Lake Placid, & Single White Female).

But in the DTV sequels, Jenna is voiced by Jodi Benson (famous for voicing Ariel in The Little Mermaid (I & II) and in Kingdom Hearts (I & II)

And that's when I thought- 'Who was the best?'

There are a plenty of pros and cons to both actresses, so I'll lay down my two cents-

Bridget- an experienced actress of the live action genre (I thought she gave Jenna a very teenaged voice since Jenna was possibly younger than Balto, yet some of her lines came out flat or with little feeling) (no offense!).

Jodi- an experienced voice-actress (her voice always gave me a warm feeling and she's a great singer (as proven in Wings of Change & The Little Mermaid) (she gave Jenna a great motherly voice, yet I wished she had more lines was a little more assertive).

In my opinion, I thought Jodi was better because she's a professional when it comes to voice acting. She could even have done Jenna if Bridget wasn't available (she's been able to make Ariel sound young and bubbly since 1989). Let me know what you guys think ^-^

i'll say, Jodi is a good singer and played in little mermaid or whatever ( i actually hate musicals and have never seen the little mermaid) but over all Bridget Fonda just has an inspiring voice and i think it would have been better if she was the voice in all the Balto movies. many will disagree with me but overall this is only my opinion besides im much more concerned about how Balto wasn't played by Kevin Bacon in all the movies!

also, bridget must have been better because think about it:
universal was doing everything cheap for the sequels: cheaper animation and cheaper Voice Talents-meaning Jodi Benson was cheaper and mustn't have been as good as Bridget Fonda

I think Bridget was better. Jodi was really good in the little mermaid 1, 2 and 3, but Jenna, it just wasn't right for her. Bridget was way better in my opinion.

Bridget gives Jenna a teenage voice and Jodi gives her a older voice, because she is aging over the years. So to be honest, don't get mad at me, but both of them voice Jenna very awesome!!

Jodi was good as Ariel and that's how I know her. Bridget was WAY better for Jenna's part, I think.

I like Jodi as an actress better ( even though I have yet to see her play Jenna in Wolf Quest or Wings of Change). I always liked her because she plays Ariel in the Little Mermaid I, II , and III, and she also plays Thumbelina in, well, Thumbelina ( by Warner Bros. 1994. Directed by Don Bluth, or whatever his name is). So, I've kind of grew up hearing her act in movies, but not Bridget Fonda.

Eh, I personally prefered Bridget Fonda but that's just my opinion.
True, Jodi Benson did do a good job on Lady and Ariel but I think her
voice was a bit too old to be Jenna and Jenna seemed more young to me
in the first movie. In the second and third how ever, they changed her
character to more motherly and her looks made her look older and I
think Bridget Fonda's voice would have made it a little better!

Bridget Fonda, gave her voice in Balto 1 for Jenna.. But for the
sequels, it's Jodi Benson that gave her voice to Jenna.

It's just got to be Bridget! She in my opinion is what makes
the film different, to have a some different voice actors to
Disney! ^_^ But don't get me wrong, I love Disney, but more
of the original movies, because now they're a bit samey, (if
thats a word XD) Disney hardly ever make "original movies

I respect both of them and think they're both good. But
Bridget Fonda fitt Jennas personality. And she was the
original. Jodi was good too,but it didn't fitt jenna even
though she has a biutiful voice I think it wasn't the
personality. Bridget did sound rather young but if she had
the chance to sound more mother like I think she would have
done a great job. Some voices are more fitt for the role.
Jodi did a verry good job though I have to edmitt. Bridget
and Jodi are both well expirienced but my opinion is Bridget
Fonda.
