-Urban Mushers-

A roleplay team

Urban Mushers

Picture the scene-

A little boy is taking his dog for a walk along a dusty road. It's the middle of the summer, in the heart of sunny Florida. The dog is bounding ahead, pawing at his master's legs, wanting to run. The boy wipes his brow, and squints into the sun, looking for some shade. He is completely tired out, and just wants to sleep, although this dream may be cut off short, because all he sees is a row of houses, and a few cars sitting by the road. It is so hot, there is a heat haze in the distance. The dog, who's short fur helps his ability to exercise in the sun, is restless, but doesn't want to push his luck. So he sits down next to the boy, wagging his tail. His master pets him on the top of the head, and closes his eyes. If only there was a way to get around quicker AND help his dog. But they had no snow like there was in Alaska or Canada. He couldn't drive a sled around the streets. Although.. there was one idea that he had been thinking about.. Standing up and brushing the dirt off him quickly, he whistles to his dog, and began to sprint back to the house. The dog raced after him, barking in joy. A few minutes later, they reach the back yard. The boy's go-kart is sitting there in a pile of dead branches and leaves. He drags it out, and into the shade. Checking it over, he realises that the wheels need oil, and the whole thing generally needs cleaning up. So he goes to fetch a bucket of water and a can of oil. He washes it, scrubbing all of the dirt and dust that is caked onto the tyres and the seat. After a few hours of labour, the finished go-kart stands in his back-yard, glinting in the partial sunlight. The front tow bumper is solid, and the steering still works. He attaches the dog's lead to the front, and rushes inside to grab a few materials, a few metres of thick rope, and an old jumper. It doesn't take him long to fashion a harness out of the rope, and he uses the jumper lining as padding. The dog is a tad confused, but succumbs to the boy's petting, and lets him put the harness on. They both wheel it out of the yard, and onto the road. In the middle of the afternoon, this road is deserted. It's too long and too pot-holey. After stocking bottles of water for both him and his dog, they set off into the haze. The dog pulls well, and it's not long before they reach the end of the road. A quick drink for both of them, and they make the return journey. This time, the dog is used to the feel of the harness and the weight of the kart, so he pulls faster. It's obvious that he loves it, and the boy laughed. They reach the house, and he unharnesses the dog, and takes him inside. Tomorrow he would tell all his friends. They could hold races, they could go on treks.. The possibilities were endless.

It's EveryoneLovesKoko here, and welcome to my latest (and first) project on BS! As you can probably tell, this one is about urban mushers. (This is a role-play team, by the way.) A team of sled dogs that race in the less-crowded suburbs of St.Augustine. Your job is to create members for the team! They can/will race in a couple of formations-  As one big group, with all of the dogs together, or in separate smaller groups/singles. It depends on the roleplay you will be doing at the time. I do this sport in real life, and it is really fun, you wouldn't believe how easy it is, too. And it's a great source of exercise for your dog. And your arms. My entrant (Because of course I've gotta be in this project too :c) is an Anatolian Shepherd/Icelandic Sheepdog named Ricochet. Picture below.

Okay. Now down to the nitty-gritty.

Rules!

  • Only one dog per person, please. People that send in multiple entries will only get one of theirs chosen.
  • You must create an owner along with the dog. A dog pulling a sled on it's own, on a road, with cars... don't be silly :D
  • No fighting
  • No flaming
  • No begging
  • And most of all- Have fun!

What needs to go into your entry!

  • A picture of your character. Linearts, renders, and drawings are all allowed, as long as they show the full body. You don’t have to include a picture of your musher, as long as you describe them in the bio.
  • Name
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Breed (No wolves or wolfdogs please. And sensible breeds that will be suitable for pulling. So Chihuahua’s and Shitzhu’s are out of the question, The smallest breed that you could theoretically use would be a cocker spaniel or something similar. Anything bigger is great.)
  • Mushers name
  • Mushers age
  • Mushers gender
  • Other musher information (Things like personality, looks etc)
  • Personality (This bit's important, so it's gotta be at least 3 lines long.)
  • History (This doesn't need to be too long, as it will hardly affect the mushing part, but feel free to elaborate if you want to!)
  • What vehicle they will be using (This could be anything that moves on land. A bike. A scooter. A go-kart. A trolley. Anything! As long as it is big enough for a kid to ride on, it's fine!)
  • If they were on a professional sled team, what spot would they have? (Lead dog, team dog, swing dog etc. This, along with their personalities, will help me determine their rank on the large team formation. They might even enter some contests OHGAWSH.)

I know there aren't usually prizes for projects, but I want to give you a little incentive. Every dog that gets in will get an icon of their loverly face.

Thanks for joining, and I hope you have fun!

Roll to the Rescue!
Wild Wind...this contest ended last year. Unless the user who created the project expanded the deadline, you really shouldn't be joining :\

Name = Shadow
Age = Eh, around 2-3-4
Gender = Female
Breed = Australian Shepherd

Mushers name = Natalie 'Misty' Yolanta
Mushers age = 13
Mushers gender = Female
Other musher information = she's giggly, happy, and obsessed with teddy-bears. She's an American Indian, who sometimes gets teased because of her heritage. Misty is not poor, but not rich. Her family can only afford the basics. Because Misty doesn't have many friends, she wants to join the Urban Mushers, and her best friend is Shadow. She looks kinda like this: http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img [...] AAAAAABldQ.jpg?v=1225555608000

Personality = Genuine. Meaning Shadow is loyal and will stay by your side no matter what. She loves to run-run-run, and could stay at a steady pace all day. Shadow hates squirrels, if she see's one she freaks out, its like something from her puppyhood. Shadow loves to play frisbee, once again because it involves running. She is sweet, like sugar, and is a real companion-dog
History = when she was a puppy, she wasn't spoiled, but she was given alot of things. Once, Shadow was chasing a squirrel, when it turned and bit her on the nose. Since then, she's always been afraid of them. Misty adopted her when she was 4 months old, as the owner didn't want to give them away. Ever since then Shadow has been Misty's dog, and loved to run alllllll day
What vehicle they will be using = because Misty doesn't have much money, she found an old trolley in a park, half buried in dirt. She tied Shadow's dog harness and a leash/rope thing to it and -TA DA- a vehicle ^^ http://media.apnonline.com.au/ [...] 7/trolley_lady_271009_t325.jpg Like that one xD
If they were on a professional sled team, what spot would they have? = well, Shadow would be best as a lead dog, but she could be a swing dog too ^^

Yeah, that it, I hope you like them!!
