Balto reviews

Huge Improvement, Balto Returns, October 27, 2010

If any have read my review of Balto II: Wolf Quest, one would know I did not like the representation of the movie at all.  When I heard a rumor of a THIRD Balto movie, I was quick to question its existance.  After the seemingly failure of Balto II, I was skeptical of the producer's ability to create another Balto sequal.  But I was proven wrong as Balto Source soon annnounced, Balto III was indeed in production.  When the trailor was released I was one of many who watched the synopsis over and over again until we were certain the movie would hopefully fulfill our expectations.

They were met.

We knew of the buget cuts and the lack of animators due to constant contact between Universal and Balto source, so we expected minor misshaps.

Balto III brought back our favorite hero, this time connecting him with the era of the airplane rather then a fantasy world version of the matrix inwhich the characters do the impossible with the world around them (such as 'becoming one with a tree' as Nava conviently showed us in Balto II).   The main characters are threatened by not another character but an idea and a machine of time.  As Balto tells all, change will come eventually and there is no way to stop it.  The fact of reality plays a huge role in what made this film a sucess then its predocessor.

Singing.  Need I say more?  Well I guess, I should say more.

Jenna sings!  Ever since Balto II introduced songs in the Balto movies, I was at first embarassed at the thought of Balto characters singing songs that ryhme.  But soon I began to ask, "What would this character sound like? or that one sound like?"  My question of how would Jenna sound like was answered in Balto III.  Though some of the animation in her song was obviously poor, the song itself and the singer was well written and right on note and tone.  I was not disappointed.

In Balto III I was glad to see that Balto recieved his Hero status, dog and humans alike recongized him and held him in awe and respect.  I also liked in some flash backs, they acknowledged the existance of Alue, Balto's daughter.  Despite their failure with Balto II, they had the courage to acknowledge she was their creation and officially a Balto character instead of hiding her as if she never existed.

Stella.  Well. To be frank, I didn't like her.  She was a character who was not needed.

Boris.  Improvement from Balto II, no longer sounding like a goose who was anything but Russian.  His phobia of heights was a turn off though.  As funny as it was.  It was very unnessary, this includes his date and affection for Stella.

Jenna's song was most likely the only song I liked in the movie.  The others were not needed.

The movie itself was a great movie.  Connected directly with Balto and Balto II, animation was improved.  Balto's eyes were changed back to their color (thank you to the fans who spoke out)!

Yes Balto 3 brought great expectaion to the audiences. Balto 2's only flaw was its animation. It was not to bad usally i watch the entire thing. I also nod my head at the songs in Balto 3, the only one i liked was jenna's song( glad i'm not the only one). And i very much agree stella was a useless charcter exept for time waster.
