Balto

9 / 10 9 / 10

A Traditional and Touching tale.,

This review is on the first Balto movie made, which was based on the true story of the Serum Run which took place in 1925. It's a heart-warming tale of friendship, loyalty, belief, and always following your dreams. Balto really inspired many people, and I'm one of those. The animation I must say was incredible, I loved the style of the old animated style, which I love. Balto's animation was brilliant, and the anatomy of the characters was well structured too, apart from Jenna. She didn't look much like a husky at all apart from her fluffy tail, her muzzle, her ears, and her markings.

Balto himself was well-animated, and looked very wolf-doggish, which he should have done. As he was one. Unlike the sequels, the first film was very gripping, touching, and lessons along the way. Many about not giving up, and showing that you can do anything when you put your mind to it. The reason I rated the film 9/10 was because (like many of you have said) of the twist to the storyline, I understand that this was because of all what a hero needs, and it would be more gripping and moving if Balto was a wolfdog. In my opinion it would have been much better if they stook to the storyline, and included Togo and Fritz, and used Balto's original design, and having him as a Siberian Husky. It would have brought out more of what truly happened in 1925, and the other heroes in that incredible journey. Putting that aside, Balto is one of the most touching, moving, and amazing films I have ever seen. I have all 3 in the Balto series, and the first film is by far better than both of them. I really enjoyed this film, and I will remember it forever.
