Description : AU fic. Resulting from a tragic accident the medicine is lost and the children die, including Rosie. In a climate of grief and confussion Jenna and Balto try to rebuild their shattered lives. Haunted by his part in the accident Balto tries to find his place in the world. He eventual decision has dramatic consquences on his and Jenna's lives. Their daughter Rosa grows up in the shadow of the epidemic. More wolf than dog she is haunted by the past and seeks to understand her wolf heritage. The past can cast as long shadow and there is no greature shadow than that of tragedy.
