Other information:

Personality:   Baldiran is a very calm fellow, more a thinker than a fighter. He’s smart and agile, but not as strong as he would like to be. Only when he (or friends) is/are in great Danger, he can gather much strength and courage.

Usually, he prefers to be alone and roams the forest for answers on the oddest questions. He is kind of a philosophical nature and can sometimes be found totally spaced out, murmuring things which make absolutely no sense.

When he’s not solving problems this way, he wanders around to help animals, not only deer, who are in trouble. He sometimes leaves the herd early in the morning and doesn’t return until sundown. Some herd members think of him as very odd, but he’s actually very nice.

He is kind and ever-loyal to his friends and family.

History:    Baldrian was born in Valentien’s herd and grew up there. Unlike many other fawns, who were either fathered by Valentien or by one of his bucks, his sire was a buck who lived in the Great Prince’s herd, where his mother Iris had lived before.

From his birth on, he was a little daintier than other young bucks, but oddly enough, he didn’t really mind. Even when the other young bucks started fighting and proving their strength, he just watched or turned away. He rather spent time on his own, talking to the other animals of the forest, such as squirrels, chipmunks and birds.

He also befriended Starlight, the leader’s favorite hind’s daughter, Croatoan and a small buck named Bracken. He loved spending time with those three.

One time, when he was wandering through the thicket, he met an old doe who had been caught in the snare. Her leg was bleeding because the rope had cut deep into her skin. He freed her by pulling out the peg and asked her if he could do something to help her.

She told him of some plants he could get for her in order for her leg to heal enough for her to walk on it and he did so. Afterwards, he took her to his herd where she could be safe. On their way, the doe told him that her name was Lilith.

Valentien allowed the doe, who had been separated from her old herd, to stay and Baldrian came to admire her knowledge of plants. She saw how eager he was to learn about them and taught him anything she knew, until she died when he was around one and a half year old.

He was very sad because of her death, but carried on helping the deer of his herd and animals in the forest with his knowledge of plants or with simply doing little things like bringing baby animals home.
He continued to grow up peacefully, until eventually, Valentien fell ill. He tried to help the stag, but he couldn’t. He was miserable by this, and is determined to help Starlight to save him and stay by her side when she has to protect the herd. His body might not be strong, but his will is
