I like Ronno! He's the best character in the second Bambi movie!

Yeah, I really go for the characters who are bad at the beginning but redeem themselves in the end. They're more relatable. Which character are you thinking of, if I may ask?

I most certainly saw the 'confused' vibe in the second movie after I rewatched it as an older child, and it really makes you kind of wonder about his life, but in the first movie, there was no such sympathy. He didn't seem confused, or desperate for attention. He seemed like he had one thing in mind and one thing only - Faline. And yeah, when it comes to deer, that's normal. But to think it's 'cool' isn't okay, because it's still sentient animals here. Maybe not AS sentient as, say, Robin Hood, but still can't be looked at and think, 'Man, I wanna be like him.'

And I admit, I like evil characters because I find them interesting - I can acknowledge how wrong they are, and there are points where a character does something that strikes the point of no return, resulting in immediate hatred whether I liked them or not(*Glares at Sgorr*). But I don't look at them and think "Cool," really. The only antagonist I've thought to be genuinely "cool" really /was/ just desperate for attention and turned around in the end, killing the /real/ villain at the cost of his own life. And THAT? THAT is cool.

But yeah, that's my personal filibuster.

Feather, I really admire you for sticking up and saying something about liking bad guys. I like to think what you said fits with other characters that really are evil in other fandoms (I personally think that in this case with Ronno, being a Disney movie, he's just more interesting than any of the other characters) that people like for no reason. People shouldn't be drawn to evil characters--they should be repulsed by them and want justice. But in Ronno's case, I don't think he's evil; bullying, mean, and CONFUSED perhaps, but I don't think evil. And I certainly don't think Disney meant for people to think "rape" when they saw adult Ronno. But still, Im glad someone else in this world doesn't think evil is "cool".

Precisely. You know the good guy is always going to win. No surprise there. With bad guys, they could lose and die, they could lose and survive, they could be turned into a good guy by the end or they could lose and have everyone think they're dead, but really have survived and come back with a vengeance (prompting a sequel).

I also like the baddies for the same reason- they have so much more dimension and personality than good characters, who are just like "I'm innocent and heroic and I'll always end up saving the day."

In the wild, does will mate only with the strongest bucks and only when they are in estrus. If Faline resisted Ronno, she was not in heat yet. If she were, and Bambi didn't fight back, she would have bred with Ronno. Wild animals don't care if you're a good guy or a bad guy, they only care who is the strongest (or most colorful, or does the most impressive mating dance---depends on the species in question). If Bambi fought and lost, she would have bred with Ronno. If Bambi fought and won, she would have bred with Bambi. But if she weren't in heat and Bambi won, he'd have to wait until she was receptive and fight off numerous bucks until then. If he lost any of those fights, he would have lost the breeding rights as well.

But we're talking Disney now, not real life. Even though Bambi was supposed to be about real deer in the real world, the Disney-version of this tale was altered quite a bit (the book was far more realistic) and all of the animal characters have been personified to the point where they really are no longer animals, but humans trapped in animal bodies.

In any case, I'm also more drawn to the baddies, not because I'm a bad person or I like bad people, but because the naughty animated/fictional characters are often more interesting, posses more dimension, and in many cases are more attractive than the goodies. I favored Ronno in the first movie because, in real life, Ronno would have won the fight. He's older, stronger and more experienced. Bambi would have given up and tried his luck with another doe and Ronno wouldn't have had to 'rape' anyone, because the does would have willingly bred with him due to his strength and size, which is vital in producing healthy offspring.

Then there's nothing wrong with that xD Not like you can help it.
