A New Leash on Life

Plot: Taken from right beneath the eyes of their loving families and friends, two ordinary teenagers will suddenly find themselves in an unknown place, an unknown situation, and with unknown results... Scientists with a thirst for knowledge of recombinant DNA are now using these two teens to try and complete their research. What turns out to be a disaster for the test subjects is a blessing for the scientists, who now consider their work hugely successful. But the once human teens are now stuck as mere animals, with no knowledge of how - or if they even can - to become normal again. And that's not the worst part... if they even manage to escape these crazy scientists, who's to say they won't be captured again? Only this time, it would be as regular pets.

My Character:

Name: Trey Fargo
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Animal Turned Into: Dog
Personality: He is the type of person who is sneaky though loyal. He can get the job done, no matter how coniving he needs to be in order to do it, but he will only do it for his friends. Trey is, in a nutshell, sly, cunning, and smart in all the right areas. He has a pretty lithe form, so brute strength is not his strong suit. He prefers to wiggle his way out of a fight rather than actually fight it and is a true genius when it comes to the art of sneaking around. He has some experience with computers as well, but he really only cares to know this knowledge due to hacking possibilities. Trey wouldn't give up information on his friends/family for anything, as devious as he is. He is true to word and would rather die than break it. He's a great smooth talker, which means he's good at making friends, though it takes a while for him to sort out the truly special ones from just the ordinary ones who would just call him for a favor.
History: Trey has lived a pretty average life. The only true incident was that he was bullied a small bit in grade school, though he learned to weasel his way out of it quickly by the time he got into middle school. He makes average grades at school - nothing stellar, nothing awful. He once got into a car accident when his friend lied about being drunk behind the wheel, but thankfully the accident wasn't too bad and he managed to get away with just a scar on his forehead. He was also caught one time while hacking top secret systems and sent to court, though he was only in jail for two weeks before being released on account of petty charges.
Siblings/Relations: None.
Appearance: Human ; Dog
Other: He has a habit of twirling whatever is in his hands, since he is used to picking locks, hacking systems, and all that other stuff. He's even stolen a few times.

My Character:

Name Melody Ross
Gender Female
Age 16
Animal Turned Into Dog
Personality She is soft spoken and shy most of the time, and appears weak. She is smart and observant, but doesn't take the proper courses to use what she observes. She also had no self confidence, but is in the process of changing herself. This shows the most when it comes to confrontational matters, she is more of the "fight" rather than "flight" type, contradicting her shy nature.
History Born to a classic "perfect" family, she was the middle child, and she falls into the normal stereotypes as such. She grows into "womenhood" gracefully, but doesn't do well with opposite sex interests. The only major things to happen to her is the death of her older brother, whom she was very close, and the main reason she tries to change herself, to become more like him.
Siblings/Relations older brother, deceased. younger sister. parents.
Appearance I don't know how to link well.. so images attached.
Other I can't decide to make her gentle or a bad arse lol, so human she is soft, and as dog she becomes more "herself" PLUS, I'm much better at rp'ing development of characters than actual profiles... so she is bond to come out better then...

She was easy prey for their sick schemes...And what was even better was that she fit all the criteria perfectly. She would prevail, they knew it, SHE would not turn out like the others. She was healthy, fit, blue eyes and dark hair, some genetics in that seemed to do better than the other experiments. Melody Ross. They had studied her for months now. Today was the day they would make her vanish. Right from under the noses of her family and friends. The government funded their work, and thus it was all framed. She would become one of the thousands to "run away". She was a middle child, psychologically affected by her birth order, and tormented by tragedy. Her brother's death would be the breaking point, or so her family would think. She was running away, in an effort to follow in his foot steps, falling into drugs and if they had too... they could dump her in an alley as a drug overdose, they could frame that easily. The slick black car followed behind the unknowing teen, the cars on a highway. Melody was supposed to be going to visit a friend hours from home. The scientist turned on the flashing lights. It was the first step to their plan.

"What!? I'm only doing two miles over the speed limit!" Melody wailed as her blue eyes caught the flashing lights in her rear view mirror.

She pulled to the side of the road and got out her license and insurance, waiting for the officer to come to her window. Two men approached the car, silently she wondered what they thought she would do. it was uncommon for two officers to come to the car. None the less from a unmarked car. She bit her lip, a tight tension growing in her heart. It was too late though, even if she knew something was wrong. The man bent down, arms crossed on the car side, he smiled at Melody.

"Do you know how fast you were going?" he only paused, then added, "Not fast enough!"

The next thing Melody knew she was smelling a strong scent of chemicals as the man shoved a damp cloth over her nose and mouth. She blurred out quickly, but saw the other man getting in her car as she was "walked" to the black car and set in the back seat. the last thing she remembered was the feel of the leather seat against her cheek as she feel over, and heard the engine start.

Trey had already been snagged a few days before Melody. It had been a piece of cake for his new captors. He was the type of guy who was easy to frame, much like Melody, though not quite in the same manor. They had been watching his every move for months as well, studying whether or not he would prove to be a good test subject. In the end, his skills with hacking and his knack for getting into trouble were what did him in and set their minds. He had a different way of thinking than most teenagers, and he was a stark contrast in personality to the girl they had also been watching - Melody. All in all, the scientists had decided that it would be fundamental to their research to take them both and see how the experiments went. Originally, Trey was to be grabbed the same day as the girl, but a moment of opportunity had presented itself and had been too perfect to resist making their move then.

It had been an average school morning for the 17 year old. He had driven to school, as he normally did. Both his parents, however, were out of town on a business trip. They had left the previous night, entrusting their son's promises that he would try his best not to get into any trouble and he would make sure the house didn't become a disaster while they were away. Before classes officially began, he did some "hacking trades". This is what he called an exchange between himself and another school student whose sports career was in danger of becoming non-existent due to their grades. Basically, said student would pay Trey any amount of money for him to hack the school systems and up their letter grade. He was used to the scheme, but it wasn't news when he got caught sneaking out of the principal's office once he was finished. He had already been paid and finished the job so he wasn't truly concerned, but with his parents out of town, that meant a call. They were so used to this by now that they just automatically gave their consent to the principal to administer whatever punishment was necessary. And after the principal hung up, that's when things started going south...

Trey knew instantly something was wrong, because he had gotten in trouble plenty of times before to know the routine. And when two guys in suits claiming to be teachers (when Trey knew for a fact they weren't, because he irritated just about every educator in the school) came through the door, his senses went on alert. The principal had walked out for a moment, leaving the "teachers" to their vices. And that was all it took. With a bash to the head via some blunt object Trey didn't see one of them holding, he blacked out. A small bead of blood trickled down his head as he was dragged to a black van outside and taken to an unknown location. And all the while, that bead of blood trickled, right over the scar he had sustained in an accident so long ago...

Melody's black hair looked blue under the harsh lights beating down on her. Their was a dull buzzing coming from them. As the girl came too she tried to reach her hand up to cover her sensitive blue eyes. When she tried to do this though their was a pressure around her wrists, she tugged and felt the tightness and it was clear she wouldn't be able to get free. That's when Melody remembered what had happened, how she had been kidnapped. The teen started to grow nervous, and started to trash around. The restraints did their job and she quickly tired. She was weak as it was anyways. Melody calmed down enough to look around.

The whole place was in general all white, stainless steel. The table Melody was strapped to prevented her from seeing everything in the room, but for the time being she thought she was alone. Melody slumped against the cold table, a shiver running through her body. She broke down, tears rolling over her flushed cheeks. Her breathing speed up and she had to gasp for air. There was no way to know what was going to happen. Part of her wanted the men to come back, just so she could get some idea of their intentions.

At this moment she felt a rush of air, which brought her to notice that all she had on was a hospital like gown. Her head lifted to see the reason why, feeling the tinge of pain in her neck from being passed out so long. that brought up another concern, how long had she been away from home? Were her parents looking for her? The shadow of a scientist loomed over her, she couldn't make out the details of the man due to the blinding lights above, she was sure this was intentional. Melody squirmed on the table as the man attached her to the machines.

"What do you want?!" Melody wailed.

The girl was not given an answers though, she was harshly ignored. Melody tried to ask about her family, she tried to get the man to connect with her on any level. She had learned to do that with your kid nappers. She talked the whole time, only saving her breath once the man had passed through the glass doors and they slid shut with a quick whooosh. Melody slumped her head back onto the table.

"Can't even give me a pillow, or a blanket? It's freezing." She mumbled seemingly to herself.

OOC: I'm really starting to adore this RP<3

Trey - though he had been a bit out of it - saw them bring in the girl and strap her to the table. He supposed the same must have happened to him when he had arrived here a few days ago. It was only a few days, according to the sun, anyway... He had been gauging his time here based on the small window located almost on the ceiling of the building - strategically placed so that it was impossible to get out that way even if they did manage to escape.

When she began waking up, he could tell she was in a panic. He had nearly the same reaction when he had woken up only hours after getting here. The scientists hadn't bothered to clean off the blood on his head until well in the middle of his first night there, and though it was still uncomfortable being stuck here and not able to move, he had learned to deal with it just enough so that he didn't feel like screaming anymore. Though the girl didn't seem to know that just yet, so Trey decided to spare her learning it the hard way. "None of that's any use, you know," he pointed out. His voice was weary but as clear as he could muster.

All throughout his arms were wires and needles. Some spots had tiny holes where they had injected him with syringes already, and Trey had no doubt that the same fluids would be brought for the girl soon enough. There were bruises around some of the holes, indicating that his body had had a bad reaction to whatever they had put in it. He wrists were horribly chaffed from trying to get free the first two days of his being here, and his hair was tousled and messy. The edges of it still maintained the blood which had only been cursorily wiped off, and his eyes looked exhausted. They were still a clear blue, granted, but his expression gave it away.

ooc: I know! me too! It is great :)

Melody had always praised herself for her sense of observation, no matter the situation she took everything in at once, to their full extent. However, it was clear that today, one of her few and far between talents, had failed her. She was shocked to hear the voice of the other person. Male, young, and it sounded just slightly as he might have been here for some time. Melody trust her head back as far as she could, seeing the dark mess of hair that belonged to Trey.

His words brought her no comfort, they weren't meant to. She saw identical machines strapped to him. The only thing that gave her some comfort was the fact that he was still alive. For now. She pressed her lips together, the perfect "m" of her upper lip becoming a straight line. It hurt her neck to stretch it back so far, but she kept it this way to bring in the detail of the window above. Her eyes scanning it intensely. Even if they could escape, and some how find a way to the window... She saw there was a pad lock on the outside. She finally let her head rest flat against the table again.

She turned to the left and then her breath caught slightly. There was a vent in the room. But it was small... It would be a tight crawl for a human... as she heard the doors whooosh open again she darted her piercing eyes towards the men coming in. There were more this time. All caring supplies with them. Melody gulped a little, her smooth throat tightening in anticipation of their desires.

Melody was stabbed with the sharp needles in eleven places. One to each hand, each foot, behind the knees, and in the crease of her elbows. Another in between her breasts, over the heart, and one in each of her eyes. They had started in the less dramatic places, and although they hurt, Melody could bare them. But the final three were the worse. She had to be held down very hard to stop moving. She screamed, knowing her voice would be horse or gone, but she couldn't help it.

The men left with out a word... cruel and uncaring about the girl in their clutches. Bruises were already starting to form as they left, showing the force that had to be used. Her throat was nearly all black, purple spreading over her cheeks. Her eyes were still watering, trying to heal the wounds recently done to them. Her only comfort was that she wasn't blind..

Already she felt hot, too hot, her whole body sweating, she was drenched in moments. "What is happening!?" she wailed to Trey, but she doubted he could make it out through the scratchy sound that came from her delicate throat, words hurt to say anyways. Little did she know her body was slowly changing from with in.

Trey had to shut his eyes as he heard the girl scream. He didn't know her name, but he instantly felt horrible for her. He hadn't struggled as much when they had injected him - though that was mostly because he had worn himself trying to get out of his restraints. He was tempted to ask the girl's name but thought better of it. Perhaps he could when she was more calm and relaxed. Trey had always prided himself on his ability to keep calm in seemingly bad situations. Heck, he'd done it a hundred times in the principal's office and even in court. But this? Nothing could ever come close to comparing with this.

Before the scientists had left, they proceeded to checking the needles they already had injected into Trey's skin and left there. Before deciding they were satisfied, they injected his chest with another painful syringe, though the teen made no attempt to move nor yell. He just gulped in fright he didn't know he could feel - for he hadn't felt it his entire life. The pain instantly coursed through his body, burning his insides and turning his bones to lead. Or that's how it felt, anyway. When they finally stepped out of the room, he could hear a scratchy sound come from the girl's lips. She had probably asked a question, but Trey's ears had blocked out any possible clarity to their voice. Though he wasn't sure what she said, he decided perhaps it was best to calm her down. If for no other reason than to attempt to get some sleep tonight rather than listen to her try to pull at her restraints - a gesture he had already deemed and said was pointless.

"I've only been here for a few days, but that's all they've done," he said in low tones. He didn't want to waste an insane amount of energy talking, but he made his voice clear enough for the girl to hear. "Stick needles and poke syringes. I don't know why we're here... but I think it has to do with tests. I've been going on the hope that maybe when the tests are done, they'll let us go..." He didn't add that it was a false hope. That he knew it was a lie. What he did finish off with was, "I may or may not be wrong, but it's what's kept me going for now..." he trailed off, knowing that although that wasn't the whole truth, it was all he could do to try and comfort her. He had never been great at that. He was only great at getting out of trouble and playing with wires. And what good did that do him when he couldn't use those skills here?

He had been absently grasping at the wire in his hand, managing to slip it out of his skin and twirl it around in his fingers. He couldn't move his wrist very much, but it was his nervous habit. He couldn't help it.

Melody listened to Trey, calming herself as she blinked through her tears. She let a tiny smile curl at the ends of her soft pink lips. If it wouldn't have hurt, she would have laughed. Let them go? No, they wouldn't do that. The change in her body seemed to be generating faster then Trey. Although it was likely going to take until morning, it was clear her process was going quicker than planned. Melody didn't know what was happening, but everything hurt. Another thing she noticed was that her sense of smell was much better now.

She could tell that the tubes let attached to her were nutrients and supplements, making it even easier for the scientist to neglect the two teens. She closed her eyes and tossed uncomfortably as her back started to hurt even worse. Something was growing... Melody knew her only chance to get away from the pain was to distract herself.

"My name is Melody Ross.." She said softly.

She tossed at her restraints, though for no real intention of getting loose, but to ignore the growing pains. She was far more of a perfect subject then her captors planned. She remained silent the rest of the night until and then she fell asleep. It was the only thing that let her escape this.

There was a crowd of people standing around Melody when she woke. Everything was different though... everyone seemed further up. The first thing she noticed was that she was no longer on her back. This observation was the start of her alarming discovery though. IN front of Melody's blue eyes was a black and pink nose... and a muzzle. She slowly looked down and as if to scream, let out a loud whimpering wail. SHE WAS A DOG!

She turned on the scientist, who were pleased, thrilled, ecstatic with themselves!Instinct kicked in, her anger rising, Melody lunged, teeth barred, only to feel they had replaced the restraints from before with a chain attached to a collar around her fluffy throat. The scientist took notes and pointed, gloating to one another about their work. Melody drove herself wild until she finally had to collapse to the floor, her tongue rolling out, she panted heavily, sober dripping onto the cold sanitary floor. Even as a dog, they treated her no better. There was no bedding, no food or water, just her chain attached to the wall. It wasn't until this moment, her mind traveled to the other boy. Had he transformed? Had he even survived? Was he still lucky enough to be human? She now searched the room for her partner in these unfortunate events..

"Melody Ross, huh?" Trey managed to find the strength to chuckle whole-heartedly. "I'm Trey Fargo..." he trailed off, not able to help the smirk that formed as he finished off, "Nice to meet you... even if the circumstances aren't so great." Trey couldn't go on any further, for the burning intensity in his bones was beginning to coincide with the numb feeling in his veins he had been experiencing for the past 24 hours. He couldn't help but fear that the two feelings were related, and that with the arrival of the girl, the scientists had perfected whatever they started. All it took was two, and a grimace made itself known on the teenager's face as he realized what a predicament they were in. He'd been feeling weird for a while now, as - unbeknownst to him - parts of his body had begun to shift to canine features and then back again. It hadn't been successful. But that was before Melody arrived here...

~

Trey was startled awake at about four in the morning, only a few hours after he had followed Melody into as deep a slumber as possible in their current situation. He had felt the full transformation, but that was not what originally awoke him. What had done that were the scientists. They had been murmuring excitedly to themselves, and though their voices were low, it felt like they were screaming to Trey's suddenly sensitive ears. He wanted to put his hands over his head to clear out the noise but that was - of course - out of the question. The scientists had released the restraints for only a millisecond, but Trey took his chance as immediately as his tired body allowed him.

He never made it past sitting up. A collar had been strapped tightly around his neck and had him attached to the wall just nearest to him. Before he could even stop to wonder what the heck it was for or what was going on, his bones suddenly jolted. It felt as if his body was tearing itself from the inside out. He gasped in pain and couldn't stop himself from crying out. In under half an hour, he had entirely transformed. His dark brunette hair had managed to cover his entire body in the form of fur, and his bright blue eyes stood in stark contrast, still the same shade as they had been when he was human. He didn't know what had occurred until he tried to pull the collar off. As soon as he tried to move his hands, he found they weren't hands at all. They were paws.

Once he had gotten over his freak attack - which had lasted for nearly an hour after that - his mind began to work. He had been left on the floor near Melody's table, and for the first time he could actually get a good look at her. While he stared at her sleeping form, he contemplated what he could do. Being the escape artist that he normally was in everyday situations, Trey had managed to get the hand of his claws and teeth and had even pried the chain two-thirds off before the scientists had entered the room due to readings coming from Melody.

Trey had to watch as her form slowly yet gracefully became canine in figure as well, and he was distraught in learning this. He had at least hoped she could stay human... That way they could both get out of there alive and in one piece. After all, escaping as a dog could only get Trey so far. Especially considering he was still getting over the fact he even was a dog.

By the time Melody had gotten up, Trey had managed to get through his chain and made a break for it, trying to get to one of the doors and pawing at the handle furiously. He couldn't pry it open no matter how hard he tried, and he was given a sedative immediately. His form dropped to the ground like a hunk of lead, and he yelped as the collar on his neck was tightened. This time, they looped the chain around his neck several times just for good measure, and they gifted him with a new accessory: a muzzle. He was still pawing at it, trying to get it loose, but it was no good.

Melody's transformation was more graceful sure, but she couldn't mentally handle her new form, not like Trey was. She lifted her head from the floor where she was panting. She whimpered as she saw Trey chained more effectively and the new muzzle. This made her new long furred black and white tail tuck between her tail, snuggled against her warm pink belly. She quickly drew her ears back, trying to avoid any attention that would make the scientist muzzle her too.

It took hours for the scientist to leave, they were too pleased with their work. Melody had behaved well the whole time though, even wagged her tail, although it felt awful. She endured petting and prodding for their tests. The moment she waited for came though. They all left, leaving the dogs to their own.

She breathed deep, letting it out through her nose. She stood up, her legs shaking under her. She pranced forward, her body was far more graceful now. She twitched her ears as the metal clanked on the floor. She was able to come all the way up to Trey, the scientist must have let this happen because he was not a threat with a muzzle. Her blue eyes showed compassion towards her canine companion. She leaned forward and pressed her nose into the side of his cheek. She blinked, now running her nose around the muzzle and chain. Mel made a quick movement, latching her teeth down on the clothe of the muzzle. She chewed through it fast with her new sharp teeth.

"There is a vent, over there, but we can't reach it with the chains.." She said.

It was hard for her to concentrate as Melody was still trying to figure out what was happening to them. However, she knew the scientist would never change them back.. if they even could be. She just wanted to be out of here, as far away as she could make her new legs carry her. Her claws made small irritating noises on the floor and it made her look silly as her ears flickered about. Her black fur had a tinge of blue from the light, and her white under coat was so clean at the moment it looked like fresh snow.

By the time the scientists had finally vacated the room, Trey thought he would practically explode from the containment. He had thought he managed to at least somewhat tame the uncomfortable feeling that came with the restraints and lab table. But now? Not only was he being chained to the wall, but he was a dog for crying out loud. Though somewhere in the back of his kind he wondered whether the scientists - with all their fancy equipment - could tell that the humans they had captured were still inside these canine bodies. Not just turned into common animals who couldn't think as highly. Or at least... That's what children were always taught. What if that had been wrong?

Well, it'd have to be a question for another time. Trey was originally startled when Melody had pressed her nose into his cheek, but visibly relaxed when he realized she was trying to pry the muzzle off with her teeth. As soon as it snapped off, the teenager quickly took the opportunity to flex his jaws. Geez, that had been really uncomfortable. No wonder some dogs snapped at people. Trey shook his head, trying to think clearly. He then suddenly heard Melody speaking. Vents? She mentioned vents. He snapped his head towards her chains ands quickly got to work on cutting through them with the use of both his claws and his teeth. As weird as it was being a dog, the sharp limbs sure were helpful right about now.

With ease the newly transformed canine picked and chewed at the parts of the chain he knew to be the weak links. In under half an hour, he managed to split the chain that held Melody to the wall, though he knew his own would take a much more significant among of time. Perhaps too much. But maybe... "There isn't enough time to get mine off too, unless..." Trey trailed off, unsure exactly how his formulating plan would work. He took a quick inventory of the room, making note of the various machinery parts it held. Geez, how easy it would have been to instruct Melody on how to hack and use some of the high tech stuff, if only their hands weren't replaced with paws. It was a crazy idea, and it was even crazier of Trey to ask Melody, but he believed she could do it.

"This is going to sound insane, but I need you to somehow get a hold of one of those computers."

Melody turned her head to look at the machines. None of it made sense to her, she turned back to Trey and gave him a scowl. "I don't understand any of that stuff, and even if I did, or you could explain it, what exactly to do think we can do with it?" She barked, lifting a paw as if to shake.

"If you hadn't noticed, we don't have thumbs anymore!" She whimpered.

Mel didn't want to be stuck here though, and she felt bad for her outburst. "Fine, I'll try." She said and started to walk to the computers. She jumped up on her hind legs, her white paws resting on the cart that held the computer trey had been attached to. She started to push the cart towards Trey, but she only made it so far. Soon enough the power cord made the cart stop. Mel pushed one more time before knowing this and the computer was pulled right off the cart.

The computer was shattered, pieces going every where. It likely had lost a lot of data, and the scientist would not be happy...The noise was loud and Melody's crystal blue eyes darted to Trey. "******, you better be able to do something fast.." She said. Melody abandoned the broke computer, going for the last option they had, her own computer. She was able to wheel it over quicker this time and lucky enough it reached Trey with just enough length on the power cord.

"Hurry Trey!" Melody whimpered, starring at the machines that were a complete mystery to herself.

Trey was about to say something in return to Melody's outurst, though his response would not be unkind. He had been about to mention how he knew how bad their situation was, but he had an idea and it was the only solution he could come up with that could actually work. When she agreed in the end, however, Trey couldn't help but let a small smirk form on the tips of his muzzle. As he watched Melody try her best to bring the computer, he went over the parts of his plan.

It was simple enough, the only hard part being the paw problem... He needed to get the computer. From there he would access the main frame. Their collars, which were made of the same metal as their restraints had been, could easily be opened by using the computer to short-circuit them. Then they'd both be free. After that, he'd have to figure out a way to get into their security systems. Then he could lock any of the doors from the outside. It was clear the two new canines would not be able to get out through the doors. The handles were too high up and they had no thumbs to turn them. The scientists had at least been smart in that sense. By leaving their computers out in the open? Not so smart. Closing the doors would buy them enough time to get out through that vent Melody had mentioned.

When the first computer crashed, Trey yelped at the sudden sound which had snapped him out of his thoughts. He nearly cursed under his breath, but as luck would have it, Melody had remembered and brought over the second computer. Immediately, Trey latched onto the small table the computer laid atop, feeling strange for the first time to stand on two-legs. That was new... It took a few minutes for the teenager to get a handle on it, but his human fingers were agile and so used to typing that it must have somewhat transferred to his paw. And thank goodness he only ever learned to type with his first three fingers, because that was the only reason he managed to even type a sentence at all with paws for hands.

Suddenly, just as he managed to access the mainframe, he could hear an alarm beginning to blare. Oh no, that could not be good. "C'mon, c'mon!" He barked. He needed to type faster. But he could only do so much when he was stuck like this. As a symphony of steps began to echo throughout his ears, he finally managed to send out waves through the wireless system in order to short-circuit both of their collars. He felt his own clatter to the floor with a metallic clang. Now to get to work on the doors... A few anxious filled minutes followed, as the time ticked away and the steps grew dangerously close. "Finally!" He howled happily, and with a last press of a key, the locks on all of the doors activated, effectively keeping the scientists out... For the time being....

Melody watched with sharp eyes, she was pacing back and forth. Her ears flickered as she heard the humans coming towards them. She didn't think he was going to be able to do it... It was taking to long. She ran over to the doors, watching down the halls. "Trey they are coming!" She warned. Just as she finished, her collar clanked to the floor heavily. She let a small smirk, but it vanished as the scientist increased their speed. Mel's eyes narrowed and she pushed her ears back.

"Come on!" She shouted, knowing it wasn't helping, but she had to.

Just as the scientist neared the door, Melody's hate for them kicked back in. Her fur rose along her back and she bent down. Her lips curled back, showing off the white sharp pearls in her mouth. An alarming snarl erupted as the man reached for the door handle. It was a sound never able to be produced by the human Melody. It made the your blood run cold. She jumped up on the door as he tried to open it.

Just then she heard the door lock. "You did it!" Mel barked. She jumped down from the door and ran to Trey, she was so excited, her tail was wagging so much it hit her in the sides. No was no time to waste though! "Let's go!" She said and leap into a run towards the vent. It was screwed in...

"Help me get through the drywall Trey!" She had noticed there was no enforced wood behind the drywall, you could tell by the sound it made when things pumped against. Why would they have to enforce the inside walls if the walls past were of brick? No one had thought about the fact that as a dog the space before the outside and inside walls was enough to slip through though. "The corners, just the corners, it will pull the screws loose and it should fall off at once!" Melody instructed as she started to claw the wall. It hurt when she hit the metal, and the noise was unpleasant, but she had to go quick, no time for neatness.
