Hm, this is intriguing. I'm wondering, will it a complete documentary, or will be more of a docudrama, with extra elements added for dramatic effect?

It's going to be a live action adventure.

Not much information will be released until the movie comes closer to its release date. The movie is still in pre production as far as I know.

This is not the same thing. Per Kristian Olsen is doing a documentary about the serum run, focusing on Leonhard Seppala. I have talked with him many times by phone and e-mail, and helped him find information. This documentary is not connected with the Cruelest Miles movie at all. Nor will it be in English (though there may be subtitles or alternate versions in English...I can contact Olsen and ask him if anyone is interested). Nor is it connected with another documentary, U.S.-based, which is also in production (which I have also talked to the producers with, and may actually be interviewed for).

Interestingly, Per Kristian Olsen told me that he is a descendant of Gunnar Kaasen.

Thank you! Yeah, they have both told me that they plan to credit my website in their documentary credits. And if I get an on-camera interview for the American one (which I have been asked, by the producer, to do), then it will be quite the feather in my cap! And will be something of a nice little reward for all the hard work. (And so much more work yet to come.)

I have talked with many authors, small production companies, historians, museum people, descendants of serum run participants and those who were in Nome at the time, etc. Most of those talks have been very rewarding and, sometimes, have led to credits given to my site by them. But most have been small-time productions (one about a Nome-based Iditarod musher, a few others being websites, etc.)...
