Aleu would continue to walk, looking around anxiously.

Katie would be up beside Aleu, seeming quite interested in another who lived like a wolf. "We'll be fine. I'm sure of it. For some reason, we always come out a little banged up- but alive." she smiled a bit, seeming just as confused as to why.

"You're right, but we have a really big group. I don't want to risk anyone getting hurt just yet."

Tension grew thick in the air as dark fell over them. Aleu was wary, looking about in the dark, seeing clearly. Blaze and Derbin stayed close to Jenna as they stumbled about in the dark, their family surrounding them.

"we need to tread carefully," Aleu said in a soft voice, whispering almost. "Not too much noise."

"Listen to your aunt. No loud noises. We should see pretty well in the dark, so there isn't much cause to worry about tripping." Katie said in a low voice, nosing Lena's cheek to try and comfort her.


Blaze whimpered and kept close to Denali, tail tucked between her legs. "I can't no see real well. Can you?' she asked. Her vision wasn't as good as it would be when she was older, much less useful in the pitch black of night, with slivers of moonlight through the pines.

Blaze had to snuggle into Denali, so she wouldn't scream at the howl.

Katie gasped, eyes widening and fur standing up straight at the howl. Kodi kept close to her, ears low.

"The Amarok." Aleu said, her jaw tense. "We have to move quickly. Pick up the pups if you have to. We don't want to cross that monster."
