Alpha and Omega will be a Lionsgate's and Crest Animation's film. It will be produced in 2010.

There is the synopsis:

Kate and Humphrey are two wolves who are nothing alike. Kate’s an alpha wolf – to her, discipline, duty and responsibility are everything. On the other hand, Humphrey is an omega wolf -- fun, friends and frivolity are what are important to him. In the world of wolves, alphas and omegas don’t mix, mingle or mate – such is pack law.

As the alpha wolf daughter of the western pack leader, Kate is arranged to marry Garth, the alpha wolf son of the eastern pack leader, not for love but to prevent a deadly war between the two packs. But the marriage is put on hold when, unbeknownst to anyone, Kate and Humphrey are taken by park rangers from their home in Jasper Park, Canada and relocated to Sawtooth Park, Idaho.

Desperate to get back in time to marry Garth and prevent war, and battling each other’s different points of view, the long distance and a few bears and porcupines along the way, Kate and Humphrey must work together to make the long journey home to their beloved Jasper Park. But Kate and Humphrey soon discover a new obstacle: somewhere along the way, Kate and Humphrey have fallen in love.

I believe it will be in 3D (but I am not sure ;))
So, what else? Just wait 2010 <3

(I don't have write the synopsis, it's why the english is better that mine xD)

*Hope the topic don't already exist*

Well I'll be darned - an animated film with wolves as the protagonists. Now that's something that you don't see everyday - in most animated movies with wolves, they are either the bad guys (Beauty and the Beast), or they don't have much of a major role (The Jungle Book, Balto).

Surprised that this topic hasn't got more attention.

Heard about this a while ago. I -really- want to see it.

I do hope the animation is good though and -really- hope it's not one of those overly kiddy ones. T__T

I want to see it for sure but something's been bugging me for ages:

Why do almost all animated movies have to have some romance tie-in? Yes, it can work and for some plots it's necessary, but can there be more than just a couple decent animated movies that aren't about/have lots of romance for once? It just gets old after a while.

I'm still going to see it though crazy.gif

You've got a point there. When it comes to writing, I tend to justify it on the basis of sheer potential variety. I've often stated that there is no better way to make a guy both happy and miserable than to give him a girlfriend (I can't speak for the ladies, but I daresay it works both ways on some level). That said, it does get to be pretty ridiculous over time.

Actually Suka, yours says it was posted today, while Panthea_us' topic was from the 25th...?

At any rate, I haven't heard anything about this movie, but the synopsis sounds interesting! I mean, not ground-breaking fresh new story interesting, but I see the potential for it. I just hope they animate it w/ some dignity, instead of, like UK said, one of those little kid flicks... but if Disney or Dreamworks don't have anything to do w/ it, maybe it won't be an issue... xD

I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for this one!

What I'm about to show y'all is very sad news. I found after lots of searching only one picture of the movie and it's not in 2D animation:

Hidden text : click to show

This looks like a picture to me of when they get captured based on the tranquilizer in his leg and the stoned expression on his face along with the drool so it looks like he's about to go to sleep.

Oh well, at least its GOOD 3D animation, the wolf looks pretty good. The strange look to the background but not the wolf itself is likely ether it being a 3D film (I mean it popping out of the film) or its from the POV of another wolf that's also tranqulized. Both are possible but given the strange colors, and that its mostly background, I'd say the latter. I'd say that's probably the female wolf by the face but the expression makes it difficult to tell.

Eeesh. I have to agree with Kiche here...

I don't like that design at all. >:
Those ears... so small and the body overall is just... out of proportion.
That sucks actually, I'll still go see it but I'm not very impressed so far.
