Birdy smiled then asked, "So what was all the commotion about?" She looked over to where the police officers and other dogs had been a few minutes earlier. "Did someone try to break into your house?"
Finally, after he thought he was home free, Morgan came back in and picked Avery back up. Sighing, the puppy allowed the girl to put him into another cage. The puppy lied down and was quiet, eyes closed, as he thought bitter things about everything and everyone. He needed to get out of this cage!
