I never said he'd be quick about it.
But you know that he eventually will.
And it seems to be the best option

I'm constrained to admit that that would be the best course.

Name: Coraline

Film/Series: Film/Book

General Information: Coraline is a 2009 stop-motion 3D fantasy/horror children's film based on Neil Gaiman's 2002 novel of the same name.

Owner/Producing company: Laika / Focus Features

Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coraline_(film)

Why should we add it? Coraline is a truly astounding film, going far beyond the limits of stop motion. It has a brilliant story, a good moral, a creepy atmosphere, and lets not even begin on the effort! The music as well is strange, somewhat tense, but delicately beautiful. The main reason I want this movie to be added is that it is truly magnificent in every aspect. Stop motion/claymation is one of the least used forms of animations, and I would like to spread awareness of it's true beauty to the public.

Name: The Land Before Time

Film/Series: Film but also a series of about 13 movies

General info: 5 little dinos get caught up in an earth-shake and are seperated from their families, now they must find their way back to get to their original destination: The Great Valley. But the journey isnt as easy as they thought it to be, they run into dangers like Sharpteeth, starvation nipping at their heels, erupting volcanoes, and an arguement that puts their friendship in danger. After traveling for so long, the 5 little dinos known as Cere the threehorn, Littlefoot the longneck, Petrie the flyer, Ducky the swimmer, and Spike the spiketail finally find the great valley and reunite with their families.(This is from the first movie)

Owner/Producing company: Universal Studios

Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://landbeforetime.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_The_Land_Before_Time_movies

Why should we add it?: The Land Before Time is one of my all-time childhood favorites and a great family film. In the first movie as I had explained, it is very touching to the heart. I think that it would be great to see it as an Animation Source website, The Land Before Time Source. But I am keeping in mind that this may be a big Source site beings it has about 13 movies in the series of films. But all is well all are full of laughter and friendship and adventure!

I know that other "project" sources won't be added right now, but I've wanted to suggest one of my favorite movies. Even if it never gets a source, it is a noteworthy movie that came out not too long after Dreamworks released Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

Name: Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Film/Series: Film

General Information: Atlantis: The Lost Empire was released in 2001 during the time that animated movies were shifting from traditional animation to CGI. It was inspired by Jules Verne's "Atlantis" and is set in 1914. The cast of characters provides diverse personalities, and the characters are well developed through the course of the movie. The main character, Milo Thatch, firmly believes that Atlantis exists, though the board members at the museum and many others think that he is crazy. An old friend of his father's presents him with a gift; the Shepherd's Journal. This journal contains maps, clues, and everything about Atlantis, where Milo then sets of to find the city that sank beneath the sea.

Owner/Producing company: Walt Disney Feature Animation

Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantis:_The_Lost_Empire

Sequel: A sequel was made to the movie in a cartoon style to try and launch a tv show, but it was a bad decision that turned fans away and gave the first movie a bad reputation. Because of this, they never released the tv show.

Why should we add it? Other than personal appreciation of the movie there are noteworthy details that even mirror those of other existing sources. Like Dreamwork's "Spirit" the movie is a hybrid of traditional animation and CGI. For the movie, they had Marc Okrand (developer of the Klingon language in Star Trek) create an entire Atlantean Alphabet. There is a plot line that isn't simply a perfectly shaped triangle (^) as it has some twists and turns as the group runs into different problems, and the main characters are developed in the movie in a way that we see the characters gain knowledge and even change their ways in some aspects. The movie was also one of the few Disney animated movies that was shot in anamorphic format. (widescreen) Overall the movie seems to have a generally small recognition today, but I remember it being huge when the movie had just come out. (I was very little and actually never saw it until I was 12.) This mainly is from the sequel that tainted its' reputation. It is certainly a good movie that I would recommend.

Agreeing on Land Before Time and Atlantis Source ^

Name: Avatar: The Last Airbender//The Legend Of Korra
    Film or Series: Series
General Information: An animated series set in a world where some can manipulate the four key elements (Earth, Faire, Air and Water) by bending. There is also the Avatar, the only person who can bend all four elements and protects the world. After death, the Avatar regenerates. Aang, the main character, and his friends, must save the world from the Fire Lord by ending the war against the other nations. Legend of Korra sets two generations later, Tenzin, son of Aang's, must help Korra, the new Avatar, to master airbending, meanwhile there is an "anti-bender revolt" plotting to destroy all benders and leave only normal, non-bending humans in existence. (Legend of Korra has only aired 2 episodes do far, so the story hasn't developed completely yet)
Owner/Producing company: Produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko/Nickelodeon Animation Studios
Link to the series Wikipedia page: Last Airbender: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar:_The_Last_Airbender // Legend of Korra: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Korra
Why should we add it? The Avatar Saga has a lot of quality to it, and it has a big fandom; to start with. The show has more modern animation but I don't think that should stop it from having its own hub here. It is not centered around animals, as most sources (don't take it as a complain), so it would bring a bit more balance. Everyone I have ever talked to about Avatar said it surely is one of their favourite series, and I know its is mine too. I think it would be a great addition, and I'm positive it would be a huge favour for a lot of people on Animation Source.

Why should we add it? As it already is Happy Feet is a Possible 20 years from now Classic of rich singing parody's such as Under Pressure, Queen, and much more. There are 2 movies currently, but a 3rd one may come as there where so many questions left unanswered after the 2nd one. The reason to add it is the fact that A lot of people love Happy Feet, 1 and 2 and It would be a create addition to the growing site of Animation Source.

Just a note: There's been some recent interest in the Redwall Source which (I think) I suggested a while back.

Also, I think a Source based on Dreamworks' movies "Joseph: King of Dreams" and "Moses, Prince of Egypt" would be a good idea. I'll post details later, but I'll say for now that they're uplifting, family-friendly, and appealing even to some of the least likely people on here (least likely to enjoy movies based on the Bible, that is) that I've met, so I think the site would have a good inter-faith fan base.

While I love both movies, the rules on AS don't allow for religious content because members can't be mature.

While I love both movies, the rules on AS don't allow for religious content because members can't be mature.

I question that general assumption. I've put religious content into stories, an odd Bible quote or two in my images, and occasionally discussed topics of that nature in the shoutbox (how else do you think I knew even atheists like these movies?) without major backlash. There are a few hiccups on the matter, but name me one topic that doesn't prompt that somewhere along the line. Besides, most of the past trouble I've seen on such matters has been due to trolls who, let's face it, would just find something else to tick people off over if religion didn't do it.

Speaking strictly from experience, I've spoken to people both open and hostile to Christianity, including atheists, Muslims, Jews, and others, both on here and in other forums with both parties keeping cool heads. I think it can work here too. Besides, the themes in these movies are pretty low-key as religious matters go. They appeal to Christians and Jews, two groups between which almost anyone can tell you there's been more than a little animosity in the past, and I'm pretty sure even all but the most antagonistic Muslims recognize the stories of Joseph and Moses as, if nothing else, certainly good reading. Secular historians confirm at least some aspects of the Exodus too.

Lastly, it isn't as if other religions aren't recognized in the form of movie presentation on AS. Balto II, The Lion King, and Brother Bear contain shamanism in certain forms, and All Dogs go to Heaven, while not explicitly of any one religion, addresses spiritual themes. Moreover there's voodoo in The Princess and the Frog, a system of spirituality still practiced in some parts of the world. If those can be depicted without people getting ticked off - and let's face it, voodoo's definitely got some nasty stuff to it - then why not Judeo-Christian lore that even an atheist can love?
