Actually, it is animated. You're both thinking of the Disney and BBC ones. The link Safari The Cougar provided was inaccurate, and she must have never seen the animated one. Here is the one she's (unwittingly) talking about: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079474/.

The owner and producer Safari put is different than that IMDb link. The term "may not be animated // not animated" was used a lot in the description too. Safari did mean the live action/CGI mixed films.

A cheap animated version of that won't do any good as a source either.. It'll probably cause a lot of confusion too.

I know that. She should have never suggested a live action movie. I was just setting the record straight that an animated version does exist. But then again, you really can't take someone who thinks Japan bombed Britain seriously, now. Can you?

Safari the cougar wrote:
General Info: The first movie takes place during I believe WWII when Japan was bombing Great Britain (Which in history books is known as The Blitz),

On another note:
==============================================================================================
Name: Treasure Planet

Film or series: Film

General info: A movie about a young man who goes on a treasure hunting adventure. Through the course of the movie, he makes lifelong friendships, learns the value of hard work and responsibility, and matures from a sullen, delinquent adolescent, to a brave and honorable young adult with a bright future. A delightful cast of colorful supporting characters rounds out the entire experience. It's the adventure we all dream of.

Owner/Producer: Walt Disney Pictures

IMDb info page:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133240/

Why it should be added to Animation Source: Treasure Planet is an incredible film whose anachronistic, retro sci-fi, steampunk atmosphere, paired with a rich array of characters and story line rooted in a literary classic, holds great potential to promote a thriving fan community. Much like reason for a certain flagship fan site we all know of (pun intended), the movie was terribly under appreciated in its time, and deserves a good fan site to promote it. In addition to the movie, a game/sequel was released that explores the hero's life after the movie.

I can't believe this source has only been suggested two or three times. If you have not seen Treasure Planet, do so as soon as possible. You won't regret it.

The anime ran from April 7th, 1986, to September 22, 1986. Ginga Densetsu Weed, the sequel to Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, is about his son, Weed.

Why Should You Add It?: Both of the series are very popular thought the world, and I thought it would attract some people to the sources.

Thanks for taking time to read my suggestion!

Ginga series are cool, but they are rather violent in images, themes and language (sometimes, very violent). I doubt they'll ever be added to the sites whith non-violent movies dediated to kids mostly.
You always have Ginga Site xD

Yet wasn't it rumored we are to get a Watership Down Source? I don't watch/read it myself, but I hope it happens. I think a more adult source would loosen this place up a bit. ...But that's just my opinion don't take my word for it.

But I slightly digress. As far as getting a Ginga Source, it was once so popular here I honestly wouldn't have been surprised has said source happened. Now though. Why bother. Ginga Site is more than one needs for anything Ginga that they could want, and I can't see AS taking on anime.

This is the link to it- /watership/en/
I have no idea if it's still under construction and will get finished, though.

Currently Blazetail is a builder, I don't know who else. I do know she's active though. Depends.

Name: Tom and Jerry
Film or Series: Series
General Information: Tom is a young cat who doesn't like Jerry (A mouse) sharing his house. They run around fighting eachother. Usually Jerry wins the battles but sometimes the series twist and Tom wins.
Owner/Producing company: Metro-goldwyn-mayer

Why should we add it? Tom and Jerry is a funny series and is still animated and shown on TV today, still in 2D! Animatio Source doesn't have many animated series as sources so it would be great to have another one! Plus, Tom and Jerry doesn't include much speech, so many people around the world can watch it.

Eek, I think Watership Down deserves to have a spot on here! :D I could help if you need extra builders.

•Name: The Animals of Farthing Wood Source (AoFW Source)
•Film or Series: Series (3 in total)
•General Information: A group of wild animals are forced to leave their home, Farthing Wood. They decide to band together to travel to a wildlife sanctuary called White Deer Park. Along the way they encounter many obstacles until finally arriving at their new home. Seasons 2 and 3 follow the animals’ and their offsprings’ lives in White Deer Park.
•Owner/Producing company: Created by the European Broadcasting Union, produced by Telemagination and La Fabrique
•(If Possible) Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Animal ... _series%29 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286336/
•Why should we add it: AoFW is an animated European cartoon from the early 1990’s based on a series of 6 books by little-known author Colin Dann. As such, it isn’t very widely known outside of western Europe. However, it is an incredible show with strong messages of wildlife and environmental conservation, friendship, loyalty, looking after your friends, overcoming obstacles and working together to reach your goals. In addition, it is not all brightness and sunshine. Throughout the 3 seasons many animals are killed or maimed, sometimes by humans, objects or by other animals. Though some may consider it inappropriate for children, it was aimed solely at a younger audience, and personally taught me many valuable lessons about life, death, friendship and the natural world.
The show features an almost limitless cast of animals, from foxes, badgers, rabbits and hedgehogs, to kestrels, deer, rats, toads and adders. In fact, any animal that can be found in the wild in the United Kingdom, where the show is set, can and does feature in AoFW. Even domestic animals like cats, dogs and horses appear as minor characters. So there would be plenty of options for fan characters. And since films such as The Fox and The Hound and Bambi are already popular here, I don’t see how AoFW would not fit in.

I appreciate, however, that there are issues with AoFW. For a start it can be quite gruesome, with animals being killed and maimed. However, I argue that it is no more violent than the original Watership Down film, and we’re getting a Source for that. I also appreciate that it’s a relatively unknown program that you’d only really know if you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s in Western Europe. So I’m not sure how popular it would be. Finding screenshots for it may also be difficult, as although all episodes are on Youtube, they tend to be quite poor quality. Despite this, I would love to see AoFW gain more recognition and appreciation, especially as I attribute my passion towards wildlife preservation to watching this show when I was a child. It also has gorgeous artwork and style ^^

If AoFW is considered, I'd be honoured to help out with the site.

Just FYI, that source has been under construction for years now (I don't know when the project began exactly), so I doubt that it will ever see the light of day.
