Well remember, he was not that physically active, and he probably aged four-five years at most (knowing the movies were four-five years apart)

No, Im not thinking that at all. Maybe my description shouldve been better.
Balto was somewhat active, but not as much. Sled dog racing is the keyword verb here.

Proofs out in the open, Balto one and three, Baltos hooked up to a sled. I mean, sure he went on a journey to find Aleu, not as much exercise is involved. But I guess Balto could have good, solid stamina to survive a lot of the obstacles (examples: when the fox pushed him off the log or when he had to carry medication up the mountain)

And he runs off into the wilderness to look for Boris afterwards...facing several challenges along the way (including some serious environmental ones), which an older dog or less-healthy would have difficulty with. So I am not sure where you arrive at your initial conclusion.

Balto doesn't even run much anymore in this film. He's old.... He's retired. well, that stinks, and it's only the third movie. One more film, one more film!
