It boggles the mind how any fan of the Balto movies can create a web page anywhere, anytime, and without any degree of responsibility over fact-checking, research, references (or, in the case of this site, a complete lack thereof), or anything even approaching an accurate breakdown and analysis of the movies, the characters, etc. (It even presumes totally non-canon information about the characters' personalities and histories...even the subsidiary characters...)


Totally deplorable. Lousy quality. Completely and utterly inaccurate. About the only thing this site got right was the song lyrics. MAJOR revamping needed. MAJOR.

Even for me it's clear that many of those articles are rather badly written. Another large mistake are "connected articles"(such as Nikki,Kaltag&Star" instead of separate articles for each).
But I think you can register on the wiki and change and create articles as a member. And I encourage ebveryone to do it

I recall trying to join this wiki probably a year or two ago to try and update things. As I recall, the person who was in charge of it was against the edits I suggested because they "took away from the spirit of the movies." And these weren't huge edits: just some grammatical changes here and there.

So yeah, its' not very good. Perhaps a team should be sent over there to make sure it gets fixed?

And yes, I think a team to edit that page and hub would be a good plan.

In my experience, nonsense content on Wikis tends to be the work of a distinct minority of site members - WikiTrolls to borrow the term used on Wikipedia. What motivates the pests I have no idea, but there was one on Wikipedia who kept sticking some wolf with a plot to take over the forest in the article on Bambi 2, and you don't WANT to know what I came across in a wiki about Stuart Little, so the presence of any on the Balto Wiki hardly surprises me.

As for Skul's edits, that does surprise me. I actually rarely run into the management staff on any Wiki myself, so whether the fact that this one's staff are that attentive or that they would object to grammatical edits is the more puzzling, I can't say.

What the heck? I understand making pages for Dingo and Saba as pups, but using fan images and totally made-up personalities on a REAL Wiki, when Saba and Dingo aren't even ever shown as adults! And making Nunivat and Yukon look like real characters, when they never even speak! That's for FANsites, not a wiki which people need to go to to get reliable info on the ACTUAL characters that appear in the movies!

... Yeah, that sounds like someone was going overboard.

Sorry.
But seriously, people can't just post fan characters on a wiki and say they're real. Especially when Dingo isn't even the red Aleu twin.

I wanna nit pick at some stuff cause it's fun. Just by clicking "random page" I land on Steele's page of fail.
...You know this whole page just reads like an elementary student's book report. 8\
I had to stop reading a few paragraphs in to spare what few braincells I have.


These things in particular though. Just. What.

WTF. How does one base a character on another character that had yet to exist at the time. :|

"Steele's personality is simular to Gaston who loves to marry Jenna and get rid of Balto."
So Steele gives Balto a quarter for the movies then he and Jenna run away to Vegas on a weekly basis or something? Was not aware.

Kudos to them getting Aleu's name and real life Balto's true breed right though.
I'd've bet money they'd mess that up.

But yea. Impossible to navigate, not only info errors but spelling errors too, and someone needs to explain to them what a 'fan character' is and where they belong.

You know, when I was young and dumb and full of minty bubble gum I used to think Wikis were accurate, and now I see that I was more wrong than a three-legged, blind cat going up to fight thirty wolves! I now see that Wikis are unreliable and tell nothing but lies! LIAR!
