Canyon Light HerdThe herd lives in a, well, canyon! The herd’s land in much bigger than the Canyon Little Creek and Spirit where chased through. It is full of mazes and only the herd can tell where they are and where to go. They love their protection within the Canyon walls, and the Canyon holds several great surprises. It houses a couple beautiful meadows and a beautiful river that goes through the Canyon. The walls of the Canyon often protect the herd from the worst of weather, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t snow and rain! Sometimes it can be dangerous, especially in a rain storm. When rain starts to come down, the herd has to either go to a part of the canyon where it is high enough or leave it completely, for the lower parts are known to flood and/or have flash floods, and this makes it very dangerous in the canyon’s lower parts during a rain-storm. Also, during a storm, the river is known to flood, but not very far, often stopping before it reaches the canyon tunnels. The Canyon is home to a couple herds, but the main one is Canyon Lights, created by Gabbar. The others are made by Bachelor stallions that have come and started a herd within the Canyon. There are other stallions to, real Bachelors, that wonder the Canyon, keeping eyes on Gabbar’s beautiful treasures in his herd, but it rare that a Bachelor can get close to any of the stallion’s mares, let alone flirt or steal her for themselves, for the black stallion is known to have the eyes of an eagle. Most of the time, in Spring, the Canyon Light Herd is led farther into the maze land of the Canyon by Gabbar, so the small herds in the Canyon have less of a chance of finding them, and this only gives a slim chance of any rival stallion to steal a mare, let alone see any of the herd.
The Canyon Light Herd works much like a real herd, with only slight differences;
-The herd has a Lead Stallion, but he is not the true ‘leader’. His job is to protect, defend, and breed with his mares.
-The Herd’s true leader is the Lead Mare, she leads the herd to grazing places, she keeps them in line, and leads them out of danger, but when Spring, the breeding season, comes along, she loses a lot of her control and the Lead Stallion takes control of the herd, along with his ‘mares’.
-The Lead Stallion is the only stallion allowed to breed within his herd, and to keep this from being an issue, all sons of the lead stallion are chased out at 2 or 3 years of age by their own father, and it is rare when a son is allowed to stay longer. Fillies have the choice to stay or leave at the age of 2 or 3, but if the herd is too big, the lead Mare is responsible to drive these extra females out of the herd.
-Bachelor stallions are not allowed anywhere near the mares of the herd, and should be driven away by the Lead Stallion before they get to close. No Bachelor is allowed to join the herd at any cost. Foals 1 and under have lenience though sense they are so young.
-All mares must care and protect one another by warning each other of danger. All mares must also take their turns taking care of the foals of the herd. The mother mares are to teach their foals respect and law of the herd and wild before they reach the age of 2 or 3, that way the youngsters are ready to take on the world at this age, whether it be staying in the herd or leaving to join/start another.
IC Rules;
- You must obey the lead Mare and Stallion
- You are not allowed to have foals with any other stallion other than the Lead Stallion. If you are pregnant with a foal when you join the herd, than this will be overlooked.
- If you are a young male in the herd, you must leave between the ages of 2 or 3 or risk being chased out by the Lead Stallion.
- If you are a filly around the ages 2 or 3, you have the choice to leave or stay, but if the herd is very big and having a hard time supporting the large number of the herd, you have the risk of being chased out by the Lead Mare, and do not get the choose.
- Mares must teach their foals the laws of the herd and the wild world they live in to ensure better chance of survival for the young horse in the harsh world.
- If you see danger, another stallion, a rival herd, etc. alert either the Lead Mare or the Lead Stallion.
- Stay where you can be seen by either the Lead Stallion or Lead Mare.
OOC Rules;
- Note/PM me on the Source Site, not the forums, if you want to join. Include your own personal post of whatever you want to add, and then the form you need filled out below in the message.
- Please, if you join, try and keep your character active with the herd.
- If you want to make a foal with Gabbar, don’t ask, just make them and show them to me!
- Don’t beg for a rank, please!
- If you want to join, please be nice to the rest of the people who have joined with a character(s), they deserve respect just like you!
- Don’t bring rivalries of you and another user into the herd, PLEASE!
- Try and make this a fun zone for ones that want to mingle their horses with a herd.
- If you join, you are allowing others in the herd to use your character in the herd in herd pictures.
- Please don’t be harsh on Grammar and writing styles, because, remember, this is a kid site to and anyone of any age can make a character to join this herd.
- If you are thinking of making a character for the herd, and you send me a bio with that character and I add them, I suspect you to have their official character page up within 2 weeks of that post.
- If you want to make a Bachelor stallion or Side herd in the canyon, please pm me. If it is a herd you wish to make, fill out the herd form, if it is a Bachelor, fill out the bachelor form, just clearing this because I don’t want these two getting mixed with Herd forms.
- If you start a RP for the herd, you must put it in the Private Role Play forms and label it ____ (CLH RP). If it is just for your herd and/or mate, that is different. If you wish to rp with Gabbar, like Gabbar and your Bachelor stallion or whatever, Message me and we can make a rp! I LOVE TO RP SO DON’T BE SCARED!!
