Not at all....actually. I think they're
really different in that Charlie actually has a conscience, somewhat, even before he changed for Ann-Marie. Steele didn't even have friends he cared about...but Charlie was pretty popular with everyone, remember every time he gambled, he shared his riches with his friends, he had Itchy always at his side through the good and the bad....but Jenna's quote stands true: "The only way Steele would notice anyone is if they were wearing a mirror". Lol, that dog only cared about himself...that's for sure.
I actually think of Steele as the dog form of
Gaston from Beauty and the Beast!! The first time I saw Steele in Balto, I immediately got Gaston vibes. Now THOSE TWO are similar. XD A violent, muscle-bound honest-to-goodness egotistical big-bully jerk who wants the girl but doesn't care enough about her to let her be with the one she loves? That is both of them. To a T. I'm just glad Steele doesn't sing.

One major difference is that Charlie actually GOT CAUGHT for his shenanigans (one of the dogs at his casino said that he was in Death Row . . . he must have been REALLY BAD, maybe even worse than Steele if you think about it.)
True...but I vividly remember Charlie insisting to Carface that "I was framed!!"....now whether that's true or not....it's up to you to believe him. ^_^ I was under the impression that Carface was the one who framed him to get rid of him. >:/
Exactly. I think that pretty much sums it up perfectly. Also, Charlie is what you would call an anti-hero: he's not your typical prince in shining armor coming to save the day, he looks out for himself at first, but his conscience will eventually lead him down the right path.
