Sadie, Syaoran, Zajiao, and Christa slowly closed in on the small herd of moose, making sure they stayed downwind of the moose so that they wouldn't catch their scent and run off. Then, once they were close enough, all four wolves crouched down in the tall grass, waiting for the right time to strike.

"Now!" Syaoran shouted, pouncing on the nearest moose and tearing at its flesh. Sadie, Zajiao, and Christa leaped out of the grass after Syaoran, pursuing any other moose within reach.

Sadie didn't finish the hunt, she just ran off back to the den.

Syaoran, Zajiao, and Christa managed to bring down one moose together, then three of them dragged the moose back to the den.

Chevek scratched his ear, awaiting dinner. Chevek saw them dragging the moose. He quickly shoved them out of the way once they got up to the den, and gave it to Jolie. Her belly was larger than usual. Chevek knew she needed food for her unborn pups to grow. "She's with pups." he said, not moving his head. "That's why I jerked the food away."

"That's... fine. Alpha." Syaoran said respectfully, though his stomach growled audibly. Zajiao then tossed him a rabbit that he had managed to also catch. Syaoran smiled and thanked him.

Christa growled in her mind."I'll be back..just..Leave.Me.Alone."Christa ran off to the forest and sat there where her sister's body had been."If only you were here big sister Christy.."Christa whimpered.

Zajiao had followed Christa, feeling compassion for her and her loss. He knew exactly what that was like. Though his experience he never shared with anyone so far other than his brother, Syaoran. But he wanted to share it with Christa, because she needed someone right now. Someone to tell her that everything was going to be okay. Someone to remind her how strong she was and that she could get through anything. Someone to tell her that Christy would be very proud of her. Someone who would be stand by her through thick and thin. And Zajiao cared so much for Christa,and he hated to see her like this.

Zajiao slowly approached her from behind, slowly as to not upset her, and sat down beside her.

"Christa..." Zajiao said softly. "I know exactly what you're going through. I have been through it myself, and it was awful."

Zajiao then looked to the bright blue sky, watching a small flock of herring fly by.

"Only my brother shares this knowledge and pain with me, because he was there." Zajiao continued in a warm soft voice. "But otherwise, neither of us have shared this story with anyone, as to not bring back the painful memories. But Christa, I love you. And I don't want you to be in pain anymore, so I will share this story with you and only you."

Zajiao told her the story of how he and his brother Syaoran both watched their father being brutally murdered right before their eyes during a pack raid when they were only pups. He told her how sorrowful he had been, and how he though he would never be able to overcome the pain and sorrow he felt inside. But then Zajiao told her that his big brother, Syaoran, was just as pained by the death of their father, but had remained strong for Zajiao's sake. Syaoran had been their for his younger brother because he knew that Zajiao needed someone more than he did, and because Zajiao was younger Syaoran had to follow his older brotherly instincts and protect and watch over and be there for his younger brother.

Zajiao placed his head gently on top of Christa's, rubbing the top of her head to calm her, as she was still crying softly.

"Christa," Zajiao whispered tenderly in her ear. "I want to be the one to be there for you, just as my brother Syaoran was there for me. Christy is watching over you still, and if she were here she would want you to move on, and she would tell you that she loves you so very much and that she'll always be with you watching over you. I needed someone to help me get through my pain, and my brother was always there to ease the pain away. And I want to do the same for you, Christa." Zajiao said lovingly. "If you'll let me."

((Bump...))



'I guess it was only a matter of time before more would come.' Chevek thought, his black lips moving to the pack though nothing escaping them. "I, uh.... I guess it wasn't true. Everyone that we've encountered has died, for their own good.." Chevek told himself. "What, sir?" Akia tilted his head to the right, ears forward and tail normally lying against his legs. "Nothing.." Chevek shok his head, turning back towards the den, entering and claiming a spot.

It was late in the middle of the night, and yet Syaoran could not seem to find sleep. For nearly the past full week, nightmares of his past had plagued his dreams and left him restless, longing for a much needed rest at peace from his torturous past.

So, giving up his attempt at sleep for yet another night, Syaoran rose from his spot where he lay in the den and went outside for a walk in the woods to clear his thoughts.

Scarlet popped her head out of the pines and lifted her nose to pick up further scents. 'Syaoran?' the she wolf's eyes popped open, her head lowering to it's normal position. 'What's he doing here?' she growled silently. Scarlet finally spotted the male. It was really late at night, Scarlet saw that he was alone. She, at one time, did have a small crush on him. But she soon got over it due to his heritage of Chinese wolves. 'What's he doing alone?' the questions ran through her head. Back to the Syaoran subject. Scarlet didn't know why she liked him at one time. After many encounters, he seemed pretty stupid, or, at least in her opinion. Scarlet stood on a lifted rock, where she often looked over many things. In this case, Syaoran. 'Why is he alone, I figured he'd be with his stupid stuck-up brother, Zajiao.' Scarlet rolled her eyes. She left her post and began trotting after the lone male.

Boss, another wolf in Scarlet's pack, paced back and forth in front of the den. His brother Sam, trotted up beside him panting. "Sam? Is something wrong?" Boss asked him, his head turning but body standing perfectly still. "Scarlet....." - pant- "Scarlet what?" Boss eyed his brother over. "I was out on watch, I saw Scarlet chasing another wolf. His name starts with 'S'." " 'S' huh?" Boss nodded, lifting his head and staring of into the dark night. "Let's go after her." Sam nodded to his older sibling.

"Where are you two going?" a familiar voice sounded the night, despite the yipping and chattering of other wolves on watch that night. "Um, nowhere." Sam rolled his eyes. "Out to find Scarlet and find out who she's chasing." Boss looked back to Aurora, the wolf who had asked. "Boss." Sam said through closed, black lips.


Rose, one of the pups, and wolf without a rank, skated and rolled in the dirt. "Fun!" she yelled and giggled. "Rose, go back to bed." Aurora nudged her back into the den. Rose nodded and followed her orders.
Aurora turned her head back to the two brothers, but when she did, a little cloud of dirt was fading into the night. "Stay safe!" she barked. She heard Sam bark back, but it was fait.

Scarlet began running after Syaoran. She started to growl as she caught up to him. She ran past him and jolted her body back around so fast, she pinned him and he didn't realize until he saw the dark orange eyes in front of him. "What are you doing here?"

Initially startled, Syaoran flattened his ears for a moment, then straightened them out, once again calm. He then looked into the orange eyes in front of him, his own golden eyes not really full of emotion, the exception being curiosity.

"Scarlet?" Syaoran asked, recognizing the she-wolf. "I'm just out for a midnight walk, to clear my thoughts. I couldn't sleep, so I figured, why not?"

Scarlet had her teeth bared, but only a little bit of it showed. She was wide-eyed. "How do you know my name? It's been years." she growled, then she thought for a moment. 'How did I remember him?' she asked herself. 'His awful scent.' Scarlet stood over the male, looking into the golden eyes she had once thought she loved. "You're in my territory," she snarled, "I'd advise you leave. Now."
Sam and his big brother, Boss, soon caught up to Scarlet. Sam looked with a angry face, while Boss growled quietly, baring his fangs. "Who are you?" Boss licked his lips slowly. Sam nodded. Boss' yellow eyes, and Sam's orange eyes both gleamed in the moonlight, both sets of eyes shot a glare to Syaoran.
Scarlet had slowly gotten off of him, the two black males standing a few feet apart, giving Syaoran little space to squeeze through. Scarlet stood on the opposite side if Syaoran. All three wolves growling and baring their fangs at the still lying wolf.
"Well, speak up..." Boss took a step forward. Sam shot his brother an agreement glance and then shot his eyes to the intruder.

Syaoran slowly stood, flattening his ears cautiously.

"My name is Syaoran." Syaoran answered respectfully, and politely. "I am from the Wolf Mountain Pack with Alpha Chevek. I didn't mean to intrude on your territory, I apologize for that. I guess I just... well, let me explain. I could not sleep, so I left my den to go for a walk through the woods, hoping it would clear my head. After a while, I didn't really pay attention to where I was going, because I was too deep in thought, and it seems I wound up here." Syaoran took a single step backward. "I'm sorry, I will leave right away."

Sam got wide-eyed. Boss didn't. Boss locked his jaws around the scruff of Syaoran's neck. Sam and Scarlet tagged behind Boss as he somewhat dragged the intruder back to their pack. "Boss is back." a male wolf shouted. "Sam and Scarlet are right behind them." another said. Boss had given up dragging the male, he just bit down hard on his ear and pulled him up the hill. The Snow Bound pack territory was a large den mounted on a large, flat hill. Slopes around the entire hillside, a few smaller dens dug out in the sides. The pack was very large, but most of the pack was out hunting for breakfast.

35 wolves remained near the territory. Sam, Boss, Aurora, Scarlet and Rose were there now. The other wolves still there were Woods, Arctic, Leah, Aleut, Dingo, Saba, Summer, Kiona, Dakota, Kyra, Bear, Eska, Hershey, Siberia, Brandie, Maize, Mystery (Misty), Jack, Jesus, Takila (pronounced Tequila), Max, Baxter, Togo, Shasta, Moose, Rizo, Amber, Sparrow, Shiloh, Lucky, and Wolf. "How's it goin' SyaStupid?" Baxter, a wolf who knew Syaoran, and one of the rudest wolf in the bunch commented. He just laughed. Shiloh, a wolf dog hybrid, rolled his eyes at Baxter and growled.

"Knock it off!" Jesus shouted. His mate Maize trotting up beside him. "Who are you?" Jesus asked him. Rose, Eska, and Sparrow, the only pups in the pack at the moment, peeked their faces out of the den to see. Boss had let go of Syaoran's ear, but he had pushed him into the dirt. Sam pushed his two front paws on Syaoran's back. Syaoran had a lifted head, he two hind legs sprawled atop of each other, and front legs perfectly parallel. Boss pushed past his brother, and sat close to the side of the den. Scarlet sat in the same spot basically, but on the opposite side. Both Boss and Scarlet glaring at Syaoran.

Wolf, Amber, Siberia, Misty, Jack, and Max stood guard around the rim of the territory. The entire territory was either on the hill, the sides, and not even half a mile away once off the top of the hill and onto the grassy ground. The entire territory, again, was surrounded by big and small pine trees. There was a 15 foot length wise narrow opening to get up to the hill. That opening, the trees just lined. There was not grass in between the two rows of trees lining the opening, just very loose, sand like dirt, where the only thing you could see in it was the small, and large paw prints of pack members. When the dirt ended, green, very short, grass grew and covered the hill. There, right smack in the middle of the hill, where most wolves gather and talk a lot, was a huge circle of soft and loose dirt. Behind the circle of dirt, and basically, from the den to the end of the terrain line were a large line of rocks big and small.

"This is Syaoran. He claims to be in Chevek's pack." Scarlet glanced at Jesus. Sam didn't move a single muscle. Except his head, back and forth. "Chevek's?" Jesus grew wide-eyed. "Keep him until the alpha male and the rest of the pack get back. I'm sure he want's to ask a few questions." Jesus nodded to Sam and Boss. "For now, take him to that circle of dirt and watch him." Aurora added on. Scarlet found a half-eaten hare carcass. It was from last night's meal. "Eat." she had said, while Boss and Sam watched Syaoran. The brothers sat on a large rock, behind the circle of dirt.
