Well most people born after 1995 probably don't know about it, considering it stopped airing at that time (in syndication)
But I think most people born before 1990 KNOW about it and the other Disney Afternoon series...

Still, that person don't read the news because I talked about it several times!

In case you missed it, Darkwing #2 has been reprinted and is now available again in comic stores! (reprinted Darkwing #1 is also available since next week)

Triple post...

INCREDIBLE!!!

Darkwing #3 has sold BETTER than Darkwing #2, and a little bit better than the first issue!!! (that's something that, as far as I know, RARELY happens to comic books!!!)

DARKWING DUCK #3 : 6,355

http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/18350.html

No wonder Boom Studios is preparing new Disney Afternoon comics!

September sales figures are out, and...guess what!
Darkwing Duck #4 outsold the previous issue, which already outsold the first one!!

DARKWING DUCK #4 6,658

http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/18551.html

Don't forget to pick up issue #5, released TODAY! The (awesome) preview is here : http://negaverse.net/duck-knight/?p=300

I expect the title to make lesser sales starting from the next issue, because #4 was the last of the first arc and no one wanted to miss it! But even though I'm not expert, from what I gathered, comics doing better on their #3 or #4 issues are VERY rare. So yes, Darkwing IS a success!

It seems the plans for new Darkwing Duck books at Marvel are becoming more and more concrete...
Tad Stones tweeted this : @SilvaniArt @amymebberson @aaron_sparrow It was good enough for the Shadow, why not? Something for the new run."

And Aaron Sparrow (who is behind the Darkwing Duck resurrection at Boom!) tweeted this :
@adalhouse @andworlddesign @SilvaniArt BTW, I am starting the script for our secret project this weekend.

(you'll notice these people are the ones who worked on the Darkwing books at Boom)

So yeah, I'd be surprised now if Darkwing Duck wouldn't be given a new series.

(But...why do I get this nagging feeling the situation will repeat itself? Darkwing Duck, then Ducktales, Gargoyles, Rescue Rangers...and no TaleSpin book again.)
I'd really like if they would do a "Disney Adventures"-like book so that every series (INCLUDING TaleSpin) would be given a fair chance.
In any case, I'm hoping our petition will help to break the curse on "never do anything with TaleSpin at Disney".

If we needed yet another confirmation that there is indeed a Darkwing Duck book in the work, now you won't have anymore doubt after seeing this :

https://twitter.com/SilvaniArt/status/2 ... 5477250048

It seems like bis repetita...I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like there will be Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, probably Gargoyles etc...but no TaleSpin yet again.
I HOPE I'M WRONG... :!:

Oh, don't say that. We need to keep being optimistic! It's bound to happen one day, and that day, we'll finally have new TaleSpin adventures :D I cannot wait until that happens!

Yeah, maybe you're right.
The fact I still haven't received ANY answer to ANY of the (snail) mails I have sent for the petition doesn't bode well. But hey, maybe they do have plans for TaleSpin, who knows??

I can't say much, but suffice it to say we're working on something special that you guys will (hopefully) love. Hopefully I can share much more info by end of Summer.

Turquoise Phoenix: I liked BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF STAR COMMAND, and you may remember that a Booster toy appeared in Jesse Blaze Snider's first TOY STORY arc, THE RETURN OF BUZZ LIGHTYEAR. (If you haven't, track it down on Amazon, it's worth it.) By the 4th issue though, we were told to cut Booster and never mention the cartoon again, because the rumor John Lasseter hates it. Accordingly, probably unlikely that we'll ever see a comic series or even the release of the DVD's.

Serpiente: No Rescue Rangers on the horizon at the moment, sorry! Would love to tackle that at some point though, and really do it right. I have been talking to one of the head writers from the show though.

Had a nice phone conversation with Jymn Magon today. You may know him as the creator of TALESPIN and co-creator of GUMMI BEARS.

In non-Disney news, I'm overseeing Ape Entertainment's Dreamworks comics. We've got MADAGASCAR 3: LONG LIVE THE KING and #1 of the PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR ongoing coming in June, both of which are really fun and have amazing art. Speaking of Amazing art, you're going to see Silvani covers popping up on this series, as well as some interiors starting in issue #2. Then there's a BIG Dreamworks property that James and Amy will be tackling for release year's end.
"

So Aaron got on the phone with Jymn Magon. That sounds cool! And, notice that he said there wasn't anything Rescue Rangers planned, but didn't say the same thing about TaleSpin.
Could this mean good things to come?? Wait & see!!! :D
