It appears that 4 new comic books will be released for Darkwing Duck!!! As far as I can tell, this is the biggest news related to the DA series since the release of the DVDs. I don't really know Boom Studios though...They are releasing a lot of comics for Disney characters (Toy Story, Cars, other Mickey & co...)

Here's hoping that the same could apply to the other Disney Afternoon series. (including Talespin obviously...) But they probably chose Darkwing because that's a super-hero kind, which is the current trend (especially since the Marvel buyout), so I wouldn't be too optimistic for now.
I'll try to see if I can buy them, as I don't live in the US...

Well, well! I think that's a very good idea they've got there! Releasing comic books is probably the best solution to bring back these franchises : almost no risk financially (creating a comic costs way less than making a new series...) and it directly appeals to the core fans. I'm starting to like the guys at Boom Studios pretty much! Of course I haven't read them, but from the covers and interviews, they look very respectful of the original series.

Even if Disney were not the ones behind this, they still agreed and gave the licence to do it, so that means they are STILL interested in doing some money with them.

I'll be sure to buy all of them! Now we'll see if they sell successfully or not. If they do, we'll be sure to get more comics like this, and for other DA series. And who knows, maybe Disney will reconsider and re-air them, or maybe even better...
If they don't, well at least we will still have got a few more comics from these series, which is better than nothing.

Wait & see...
