Does anyone else get annoyed when people call Scar "Taka"?

Yeah, that can be really annoying which is why I prefer having him called Scar.

It's especially awful when people make slideshows of pictures of him and call it something dumb like "Taka(Scar) Big Tribute" *shudders* WHY CAN'T YOU PEOPLE JUST SAY HIS REAL NAME?! Dx

Heh, ah yes I see what you mean! Yup, it's definitely strange when people call him Taka for any time.

Maybe it's so they can try to act like they know so much just 'cause they use Taka instead of Scar.

It was in one of the books in the "Six new adventures" Disney released shortly after TLK 1 came out. It's in those books that Kopa is shown too. (You can often find them on eBay).

If people bothered to find out what the name's mean they'd know "Taka" means "dirt" or "trash" and also "want" in Swahili, all the TLK characters were given Swahili names. (Except Timon if I remember right).

I don't remember Ed, Ma, or Uncle Max being Swahilish either

I prefer the name Scar but it doesn't really bother me if someone calls him Taka. You have to keep in mind that the name Taka is a part of Scar's past and it's symbolic so people will continue to call him Taka. In regard to people who have never even read the books and are just calling him Taka because "everyone else" is doing it, it becomes a little irritating and pathetic.

I don't really care what people call Scar "Taka". From all the videos I have seen based on him, I figured out who Taka was. But I do kinda get annoyed because Scar is his orginal name to me.

i just think the name scar was not a very good choice for him, because how all other characters have african names, he has an english name. it doesnot fit in the movie at all!

I prefer to call him Scar. Mainly because that was what i always called him when i watched the Lion king. But really it depends weather you have read The lion king: Six new adventures.
