Does anyone else get annoyed when people call Scar "Taka"?

Just wondering. Because I certainly do.

Why? Most of them have never even read those books. That's like giving your opinion The Lion King without actually seeing the movie and just reading about it online. What do you think?

i just dislike the name taka period. i just think his name is better being scar.

Taka was his old name. Now he's Scar. I think Scar fits his evil personality...

I don't mind, it is his real name.

It was in one of the books in the "Six new adventures" Disney released shortly after TLK 1 came out. It's in those books that Kopa is shown too. (You can often find them on eBay).

If people bothered to find out what the name's mean they'd know "Taka" means "dirt" or "trash" and also "want" in Swahili, all the TLK characters were given Swahili names. (Except Timon if I remember right).

I personally prefer the name Scar, but I understand the use of the name Taka when refering to his past before the scar.

I am curious to know whether it was the same head people who made TLK the movie who worked on the 6 new adventures or some other people.

It doesn't annoy me or anything, but it did confuse me at first, as I never read Six New Adventures. But I did some research into them and familiarized myself with the name (I'm actually tempted to read the books myself now).

I prefer it when people call him Scar. But it's fair enough when people call him Taka if they're referring to a time before he got his scar.

Actually, I'm talking about calling him Taka for any time. Like replacing 'Scar' with 'Taka' for everything.

Example:
I think Taka was an awful king. Villain or not, he should have taken better care of the Pridelands. The hyenas didn't turn it into a barren wasteland by themselves! Though I really don't understand how Taka did that, he's still cool. :3

Okay, that didn't make much sense at all, but you get the point. XD

Yeah, that can be really annoying which is why I prefer having him called Scar.
