When I first saw the title of this, I was a little iffy because of Clay's already-made topic.
...until I read it, and realized there was a lot more to be said. x3 All the examples of crappy usernames are SO true... it's be nice if people could be more creative instead of having thousands of Balto-related names xD Like you said, it's nice having someone with a username that's easy to make a nickname out of, I struggle with it myself.

Great topic!

Well when I first joined BS I was Rush Hour(nork), but I didnt want people to think I had named myself after the movie. Actually I named myself after the mad traffic rush that people went through in the cities. The nork part was on there because thats what my brother's call me. supposed to be a mix of a nerd and a dork I guess... Anyway I got sick of how long my name was and I decided to shorten it, like a nickname or something, I figured having a long name with not mush of a meaning looked kind of noobish. So I changed it to Rush. Rush to stands for that feeling I get when I go snowboarding. So that was pretty much the origin of my username.

I've only changed my username once in my time here, and even then, I just changed the second part. Originally I went by Aniu_Blade. It was the name I used everywhere, and it just kind of followed me here. One of my characters, the main one I use in private stories and rps, has always been named Aniu, so I got used to everyone calling me that. I was also really big into swords back then, so I added the "Blade" part because most other websites wouldn't let you have a 4 character username. It never really felt right, and finally I just got fed up one day and added my character's last name "Caelestis". It's a pretty good representation of me, because she was my first big character and has always been a big part of my creative life.

I've had thoughts about changing it again, as I know many people have trouble pronouncing it (and sharing a name with the Balto Aniu isn't so unique anymore. Fun fact: I was one of the first people on here to share that name, xD). But at the same time, I'm really attached to it, and everyone knows me by that name. Not to mention, in my search for something else I'd probably come up with a name that's equally as unpronounceable, if not more-so. I've always had a knack for doing that.

I don't like when people are having usernames that are names of fandom characters, like in Ginga Board we have Akame, Kurotora etc. or JeromeWeedKaibutsu or something. Some creativity guys?

I changed my username only once from Dorcia. It's a short from my real name and my friends used to call me that, but I decided to change my internet username because I didn't really like it.
I changed my nickname to Sakujo while I was in a big part of Death Note fandom. I get the idea when I saw Mikami from Death Note. He always says "sakujo" (that means "eliminate") when he killed and I liked it xD Matto-Sakujo is my DeviantArt username 'cuz Sakujo was already taken and it's still about Death Note's Matt.
I'm not so big fan of Death Note now, but I like my username and I don't wanna change it xD

Some people may remember. I had the username "LitaAngel" as I joined 2009. I know, it is a noobish name, but it had (and still has) a meaning to me.

I named myself "LitaAngel" because of my beloved dog, her name was "Olita" but she simply got called "Lita" (first part of my name).
And the fact that she died some years ago somehow made me put the "Angel" with into my username.

So my first username on here was a noobish name with noobish reasons, but hey, I WAS a noob.

Later as I created my fursona I wanted to show that with my username, (I created my fursona to represent me, so why not representing that with my username?) but somehow I didn´t want to "abandon" the "Lita"-part.
So my second username, "Jordan (LitaAngel)" came to be.

Soon I got tired of the lenght of that username and I "deleted" the "Lita"-part but had to add the "." because without the name was already used by someone.

So my username came to be, uncreative but doesn´t include all the common stuff.

I still got my very first username two other, not fan, sites.

My username waaaay back on the day I joined was Tonyu_Rules (Saske might remember that xD). Tonyu was the first character I created, a male lion who was the son of Scar and Sarafina. However, I later adopted a character called Diego and thats when I changed it to diego_rules (I should really bring Diego back with a natural design.)

I'm considering changing my username to just 'Dee' though.
Firstly, diego_rules is slightly noobish, and makes me sound like I'm obsessed with my own character; secondly, people think I'm a guy sometimes T.T and lastly, I find it to long.

VERY helpful, Zuko, and I agree on every point! I hope every new member reads this.

-

My tale is short and simple. I acquired the nickname 'Roi' in high school.
Being called that by my art teacher and at the time it was simple, 'Roy'.
But after a random hatred for 'y's after realizing they were in the end of everyday of the week,
I changed the spelling a bit. Which I like cause it looks awesome. And it's like 'koi'.
...but you know... switch the 'k' for a 'r'.

'Doberwolf' is just the breed my sona is. Half Doberman Pincer half Timber Wolf.

I love my nickname and tacked on the 'Doberwolf' cause it sounded good and explained myself a bit more.

My username's 'Roi Doberwolf'. Always has, and always will be.

yeah, the balto130292348485857 names are getting annoyes, and as you said, this is a Balto FAN site, so there is no reason to have a name that says you're a balto fan xD

I originally called myself just Italian Wolf to specify that I come from Italy but, I had the feeling that something was missing, so I wanted to add something before the Italian Wolf; how I came up with Saske? Well, I am a naruto fan, honestly I used to be a Naruto anome fan but not anymore, now I just buy the manga, I think the cartoon it's too censored and they had ruined a lot of things, I discovered that a channel on my TB was in english and they showd Naruto in english so, when I heard how the name of Sasuke was pronunced, I fell in love with it and decided to call myself like that because Sasuke Italian Wolf didn't sounded good but Saske Italian Wolf was fine for me :] so, that's the history of my name xD it's almost three years I've had this name, on DA too, and I'm not going to change it.

Although I've wondered about that, I've never said anything. Being a Naruto fan myself I knew the spelling was off.
After reading it all makes sense now, so awesome story, Saske! ;D

I really love hearing all the stories behind everyones names :) It tells quite a lot about yourself and simply how each name represents something about you. I look forward to more!

Well, i've had three usernames, my first one (ToonTownLouie1234) was in the beginning of '09 when I joined here when I was obsessed with ToonTown and my dog's name is Louie. I have No idea how the numbers came to be lol. Then when I was STILL obsessed with ToonTown, I found the name so long I moved to my second username (TTL1234) then in '10 I didn't play ToonTown anymore, so I HAD to change it.. cause now I hate ToonTown. I asked Wolf-Prince for another name that 'suits' me.. so came 'TopsyTurvyTipsy' aaaand I like it lol. I think the 'TopsyTurvy' came to be cause well, i'm a complete klutz :D. I'm almost always on the floor... Small objects fly out of my hands when I pick them up xD. 'Tipsy' is my fursona's name so I wanted to add that :D (I named her in like '07.. I was a bit young)

I agree. If someone takes like: Baltofan1. Dont do: Baltofan11 >.< Please people. What is a good Idea for user names is take your favorite think about nature like Flowers or Mountains then change it into a different language. Easy.

I got my user name from my cats Lily and Lucy(Lilylucy) then I thought that sounded short so I added "129" my birthday 12/9 :D Its really simple sometimes coming up with user names.

I don't want to get into my old names x33 I had been AngelCrystalHeart, but it's a bit long and unorganized looking. So after thinking for a while, I decided to use Stunner. Since Stunner is the name of my fursona, and some of my friends call me this. I know I'll be keeping Stunner for a very long time.

hmmm my user name, well it all started when I went and saw How To Train Your Dragon. It is easily my favorite movie of all time, I have seen it probably 10 times since it came out. The main dragon in the movie (toothless) is a nightfury so i easily choose that. And I graduate in 2011 and have used that whenever i need the number, but i thought nightfury11 sounded better than nightfury2011. So my story is nothing too creative other than i would give ANYTHING to be in that movie. :)

Welll my original account's username was Might Thunder. Some of my old friends like Tadie and Choo (however you spell it lol) Le Na might recognize me. I actually wanted it to be Mighty Thunder but I made a Typo. I lost my account when my computer messed up, many years later. When I built a new account, I called myself Typo, rembering the error I made in my Previous account name. I then changed to Gypsey, but soon found that to "girly" and I'm a HUGE tomboy. So I switched it back to Typo.

This is an very good, informative topic Zuko! I'll even recommend it to new users. (And maybe have a link somewhere...) ;3
-------

I myself came to the sources in mid-2007. My best friend Dizzy (Aniu's_girl) told me about them and even let me log into and share her account. (This does have relevancy to my story.) During that time only two sources existed: Balto Source and the Lion King Source. I have loved Balto ever since I first saw it on an old VHS as a small toddler. Therefore, I came up with the name "Balto's_Shadow" This was going to be my username, but somehow the registration messed up when I first tried to sign up in 2008...

I continued to share Dizzy's account, but if felt odd logging in on my friend's account. Finally, in February of 2010, I decided to make my own account. By now one other source existed: Spirit Source. I saw Spirit twice in theaters and it captured my heart with the first gallop of hoof beats. Now I had a problem... There were two sources for movies that both were (and still are) tied at being my favorite. Finally, I took the original username that I was going to have and changed it to "Animal's_Shadow" to fit with loving both movies as they are both animal movies. I kept this for about half a year...

During the summer of 2010 I decided that my username sounded childish and was improper grammar (I'm very particular about grammar.). Then I started thinking... Many things came to mind, but nothing that I liked. It just so happened that I started thinking about my love of animals. Ever since I could remember I would go to the library and come out with huge stacks of books on animals ranging from Dogs - Horses - almost any animal that existed. I have always loved to learn and would devour all the information in the books...

During 2007 is when I decided to start trying to draw again (as I had lost the inspiration due to awful, proportionally-off drawings). Dizzy's art and love of animals got the gears turning for me and I began to work at drawing them. I also picked up from a few spectacular artists to study the skeletal and muscular structure of animals. In the real world, I owned a golden retriever named Biscuit. (She just had to be put down this February...) I always tried to study how she moved, showed emotion, and communicated with me. I have always had a way with animals. Though I can't speak their languages, I have a way of talking to them and using motions with words to communicate. There have been cats that hate people who have happily climbed into my lap and let me pet them, and even dogs who aren't mine that will listen to me. They seem to have a submission and respect for me...

In the end, my ways with animals caused me to come up with the name "Animal Whisperer" I truly love my username and never want to change it. I know that some people still might think it's childish, buto I have fallen in love with it and can't bring myself to ever change it...

------

You have my permission Zuko, if you would like to add my story to the topic page. Thank you for creating the topic... It really took me back to my roots and helped me see how far I've come and love my username even more... I appreciate it... ;3
