THANK YOU, Natti! I forgot to add to my last post: Why would Japan care about Balto anyway?

Well... I was just saying because the plot fits right for an anime! look at Wolf's Rain for example, no one likes wolves! and Lucky Star another example, Konata is always bullying some pink-haired girl just like Steele is to Balto!

Mmmm...and that's just what was missing from the Balto cartoon...pink-furred wolves. Might as well give the sparkle dog/scene crowd some sense that what they do, in creating those horrid sparkley characters, isn't total garbage, right?

Look, I'm not picking on you here. You're entitled to your wishes and your opinions. But I think you can see where this has gone. And I think the discussion probably has run its course.

Well, it's possible they would care. The Japanese are no different than anyone else in being drawn to a dramatic or entertaining story. Certainly, if you delve into what interests the Japanese in entertainment, history, etc. you can find many instances when events elsewhere in the world, as well as some forms of entertainment, really catch on like wildfire over there.

But to tear down the Balto movie(s) by making it (them) into either anime or manga? Dear God in Heaven, NO.

Are we talking about "anime" as in CGI animation? If so, I think Balto would take well from some modern computer animation.

And a tv show I wouldnt mind either, taking it as they didnt see making another sequel, so they made a series. As long as the show wasnt on Nick Jr., PBS, or Sprout. or that would be degrading.

I like anime, but I highly doubt balto is really a good idea for one. It hasn't much to go off when staying to the movies either, it'd only be good if someone actually spent the time to figure out a good plot that ran throughout the series. Other then that I suggest just leaving Balto alone nowadays, if anyone made a new movie or series then it'd just be falling on your own sword as it'd more then likely come out worse then the sequals. It'd be interesting to see what they'd make of it though.

Oh then no, no anime for balto. It would ruin it.

@ JC: I was thinking more along the lines of: If american animation bussinesses won't touch it, why would a different country randomly pick it up and run with it so long after the latest sequel. It's not even popular among the public or in media and it just seems too ramdom.

Even if another country picked up it and ran with it, they would come to realize that it was waste of time much too late.

You've got a point.... Is work on Balto again really worth it? I've come to a hard realization of that

There are also legal rights. Some Japanese company couldn't just use the Balto characters just like that. The only thing they could do legally is make their own characters, redesign Balto, make a whole new story. At that rate you don't have Balto, you have something else.
