Frankly, I don't want to imagine the sort of "fans" it would attract with more negative, heavier and "mature" themes. There are enough odd characters among the fandom already.

Seriously, let it go. Balto and anime wouldn't work even if we wanted it to. What would it even be about? See?... Um first off, calm your freaking face. YOU sound very condescending. PERIOD. Seriously. What would it even be about!?

They fight to the death and there's lots of blood and Baltosuke, through the power of love, defeats his father, and shares a very touching goodbye with his rival Steelemaru! Baltosuke has a long journey back to Nome City and saves the people and becomes a hero, and the evil mayor is defeated and that's the TRUE STORY OF BALTO! Tada! Best retelling ever.
