***This is very important for, and applies to, everyone who has posted any fan-characters on the main site in the characters section!*** This will also be noted on the next Fan News on the site.

Starting tomorrow, August 14th members have one week to finalize their characters, and get them featured in their own galleries (fan-art/images, fan-fictions, etc). This means this grace period lasts until August 21st at 12:00PM (Noon). Any characters after this date that are against the rules will be deleted/deactivated until edited. This finalization includes:

-At least 1 fan-art/image/fanfic feature

- Minimum of basic information about the character (listed below):

***NOTE*** Rule Change: (from forum page)

These are no longer allowed. You cannot turn an already official, legal, copyrighted character into an animal (e.g: any anime or book characters). They do not belong to you in this way. End of story.

- One page per character. (This seems obvious, but I've seen instances where its been a whole litter of a character's pups as one character. This is not allowed. If you really cared about your characters you would want to go through the effort of making separate pages for each.)

- Only character head shots are allowed for the icon. They are easiest to see rather than of a whole body image. (Note: If you do not know how to crop an image, feel free to ask for help from friends or moderators.)

- Icons and full body images on page must be colored. Other wise it just looks lazy and unattractive. Put effort into your characters.

- No obnoxious symbols around the character name. Note that we know more than one of the same name is not allowed. something like *name*, ~name~, etc is fine. Do not exceed 2-3 symbols on each side. This includes posting your name after it. It is not necessary. Your name will already appear on the character page.

- Site/Forum rules still apply. Such as:

18. Stealing is not allowed. This includes : pictures from other websites, fan-arts from other artists, musics, videos, etc...anything that you didn't ask permission from the original author before using it.

1. No swearing - We want to keep this a kid friendly site. Sexual content is also forbidden, as well as mate talks.

3. No obscene avatars - Again we want to keep this place kid friendly.

5. Do not type in all caps- When you type in all caps it means you are yelling and it also makes it somewhat difficult to read. There are exceptions to this rule if you are just emphasizing one or two words, or have a line in a fan-fic that needs to be in caps.

6. Do not write in SMS language - this is annoying for the readers. Use punctuation. For example, do not write "any1 like..." but "What do you think about my drawing?"

Hi Draco,and Fan-character Mods.
I am busy with a roleplay at he moment and I am having trouble getting my fan characters pages completed.

So please feel free to delete the ones who are not correctly made, I will re-post them when I have them completed!

We'll only actually delete them if you want. We'll deactivate them more likely so you can just go back and edit the page. Just be sure to tell us when you're finished so we can reactivate them.

Ok thanks Draco, Pleas do just deactivate them, I will edithem other the next few months providing my brain works properly!

The french fan characters are also concerned ? I don't have seen news about this on the french site...

The moderators are different on each side, so as far as I know, this is only for the english side, since I wouldn't be able to moderate over there. Unless the mods want to carry this out on the French side too, which would make sense, especially if needed. But if its not needed its up to them.

One question: What exactly do you mean by deactivating Characters?

Deactivating v. Deleting is pretty much as it sounds, it's not seen on the character pages, can still be accessed by link, and it still shows up on the list on your profile, but is otherwise inactive. Only the mods can reactivate it. It's preferred over deleting because deleting it erases it, while deactivating will allow the page to stay up to be edited until its following the rules.

Can we continue to create Character Pages?

As long as they're within the rules.

Basically meaning DON'T just make a character to make one, or to use a design. Take the time to come up with the information needed. Put everything else in fanart or images, don't spam the characters section with ones that are never going to actually be used.
