I'm sure you all are aware of the tragic accident the happened in Spain recently. Gateliyou, or Gatell a member of this site, was on the train to do work for a friend. He was supposed to be home yesterday. But he never arrived. Tragically, the train crashed and Gateliyou, and 79 other people lay dead because of this horrible accident. Death is something that we can never predict, and can strike us so quickly. All we can do is cling to the memories we have and try and find our way in this maze. It is awful about Gatell, and I grieve both him and the others lost in that train wreck. My prayers will be with his closest friends such as Jockris and his family, and I hope that he rests in Peace. You will be remembered and missed, Gateliyou...

I didn't get to speak with Gatell as much as others did, but when I did speak to him he was always nice. His gallery was worthy of features. Seriously, I'm not good at honoring dear ones who passed away. I just hope that Gatell will be in Heaven next to our Lord, enjoying the pleasures of the paradise.
We'll remember you, bud. To all his friends, and his family; I'm really sorry for your loss. My condolences are all yours.

I am not religious so I will not say how I hope Gatell will be save and sound in heaven. Don't get me wrong, it is perfectly fine for people to belive in those things but that just wouldn't be me. And Gatell would know that. I've always been honest with him, no matter what so I will also post my true, honest thoughts here.
Gatell has always been a fun, slightly crazy guy. We actually got along right from the start. He was kind hearted and always offered his help. He even took the time to teach me how to shade in a join me stream answering all my stupid questions, showing me different ways to shade, different light angles, the full package and he never demanded anything in return. And even when I voluntarly drew a set of icons for him he offered to pay, which of course, I refused, telling him that I would never charge a friend.
We've been having quite some fun times in the shoutbox and actually planned to get a little more active on Skype but sadly that will never happen now...
Rest in piece, Gatell, you will be missed, a lot. Just as the other 79 victims who lost their life in this tragical accident will be missed by their loved ones. Missed by your friends on here and those people you knew in real life. But we all can be glad to have known you. It's a shame that such tragedies happen.

I was never close with Gateliyou myself, but he seemed kind and his images were breath-taking. He was the sort of talent I think this site needed more of, and seemed to be a guy that people could go to whenever they needed help.
Tonight, when I got out of the shower and came back to my computer, I saw something going on that I thought (and hoped) never would. Time for me just seemed to stop, and while we weren't even friends, I could just feel the greatest sadness well up inside of me. He was taken too soon and had a very good life to still live out. (It was even weirder because just last night I saw the news and regarding the train crash.)
Anyways, while you will not see this, Gateliyou, I wish I could have told you just how much I admired your works and I wish that I had made the time to've gotten to know you. I can speak for many people when I say that you will be missed, but I will thank you for taking the time to join this site and for doing what you did, contributing all kinds of greatness.
Rest in peace, and thank you for all that you've done.

"Even the distant friends are close to your heart." I never really knew Gatell that much. Yet despite this, I will miss him a lot. Gatell was one of those people whom I liked from the start. He was a great dude at heart, and I enjoyed the few moments that we did talk. I found him to be quite the help at times, as he helped me one with a pose I'd been having difficulties on. We also had quite a few laughs in the box. But unfortunately, those will be nothing more than past memories. Now, with finding out of Gatell's death, there are a number of unanswered questions that follow. I apologize if this is too soon to ask, but what will happen to his photography business? What will happen to his tutorial site that he was working on? What will happen to all of the other things that Gatell worked for? Only time will tell, I guess. I guess the only words I have left to say is that despite the feeling that this death came too soon and that the cause was highly preventable, the time had to come eventually. Goodbye...

Dear Gatell... Even tho, I really never had the chance to know you well... I still included you as a friend. You were nice, kind, caring, considerate, I still remember the joke we laughed about when we talked last.... "Lol yea, my computer screen is made by the company called Gate" -Me "XD Lol wow, is that a joke or something?" -Gatell "Lol no!!! I'm not kidding! It's really made by them!" -Me "Lol wow, that's interesting" -Gatell. I posted this because, well, you had a place in my heart. Even tho, I never really knew you, I still counted you as a friend. I hope you rest in peace Gate and enjoy the after life, or whats coming next for you. I'm sure it will great.
Love, your friend, Broken Wings

I never really knew Gatell that much, yet despite that I will miss him a lot. I wish I'd have talked to him more than I did, but I know him very well through his artwork and images, which I added both galleries to my favourites- he was amazing at his artwork and images.
I honestly cannot come to terms with what has happened, it's all really sudden. It's tragic...it really is. My condolences to his friends and family who I'm sure will be distraught currently, and my thoughts are also with the families of those who were killed in the train crash.
Rest In Peace, Gatell, we'll all miss you.

Rest in Peace. Gateliyou was a great artist and he did help me with the shading tutorial. I had never been a friend of Gateliyou, but I am distraught to hear what has happened. We will miss you, Gateliyou. Again, Rest in Peace.
It's really sad to hear that alot of people have died in the train accident. My thoughts go with their friends and family.

I am only just learning of this now, and it's around a quarter to four in the morning. I went to his profile page on Balto Source after seeing a vague condolence in the "latest site comments" which drew my curiosity. And then saw a notice about it on the Facebook wall of one of my friends (who is also a member here).
I was shocked, to say the least. And it is very sad, and very unfortunate. I didn't particularly get along well with him up until the last month, and then it was only luke warm at best. But I can say that I am deeply saddened by this, and I would like to, in my own small way, offer my condolences to any of his friends and family who may see this, and especially to Jockris, with whom he had a rather more marked relationship. I have not even heard word about her yet, but I hope she is safe and has not been involved in that terrible accident.
As I said on his source profile, and being a religious person myself, "Requiescat in pace".

I had heard about the disaster on the news earlier. But not until a few hours, when Gojira told me, did I know a member of AS was one of the victims. I hadn't even heard the name Gattel until I Gojira explained what happened. How did anyone find out about this? Anyway, RIP Gattel. We'll miss you.
